We really wanted to thank this specific agency, we had someone scratch the car badly and they were really understanding and did not charge over the admin fee (which was very low for the damage). Moreover we forgot a pair of sunglasses and they called to give it back. Really top and efficient service, always available ! Many thanks

DO NOT BOOK A CAR HERE - we booked a car for two days in Slovenia at the Ljubljana office through booking.com. We have booked so many cars throughout our travels and this was by far the worst experience we have ever had. Our booking was paid and confirmed in advance and when we turned up at the office the two employees said there was no booking on their system. There had obviously been some type of error between booking.com and Hertz and we fully understand that this is not necessarily their fault. However, the response after is why I wish I could give 0 stars. We called booking to see what the error was and they explained how on their system everything seemed fine and gave us the confirmation code that Hertz had produced for the booking on their system. The assistant at booking.com asked to speak to the Hertz employees and they refused to speak to her. The one employee just got up and walked out of the shop while the second one told us it was his first day at the office… they were incredibly unhelpful and every time we asked any questions or tried to see if the booking went through on their end they wouldn’t give us any answers. Thankfully there were cars available next door at Avant Car - yes they were more expensive but my goodness just pay the extra and go with them. Because we booked through booking.com we didn’t see the 2.9 star rating for Hertz and now we understand why. Save yourself the grief and just go next door to Avant Car!!

Achtung: unbedingt Auto vor Übernahme von allen Seiten fotografieren und Protokoll auf aufgeführte Schäden überprüfen! Hier werden einem bei Rückgabe Schäden unterstellt. Attention: Before taking delivery of the car, make sure to take photos of all sides and check the report for any damage! Damage will be assumed when you return the car. Pozor: Avto pred prevzemom obvezno fotografirajte z vseh strani in preverite zapisnik za morebitne navedene poškodbe! Tu se škoda predvideva ob vračilu.

Be very careful - you collect the car from a dark underground carpark alone where you cannot inspect the vehicle. Then they charge you for 500 EUR for dirt on the back bumper and say it is damage.

Very good experience even though we had read the previous comments. They helped us in 5 min, after our car broke down during our holidays in Slovenia and they got us a replacement car (rent a car). When our car was fixed they even came to take their car back so we didn't have to move. Very nice, kind and efficient. Thank you!

여기서 차량을 인수해서 공항에 반납했는데, 차량 반납 시 한참을 구석구석 확인하던 직원원 타이어휠에 흡집이 있어 수리비 청구하겠다고 합니다. 타 렌트카를 여러 번 이용해 봤지만 이런 경우는 없었는데, 피해를 당하지 않으려면 렌트 후 구석구석 전부 사진을 찍어두고, 차량손실 면책프로그램(자차보험, LDW(Loss Damage Waiver))에 가입해도 보험처리가 안되는 부분은 더 많은 사진을 찍어둬야 수리비 청구에 대응이 가능하겠네요. 즐겁게 여행을 마무리하려면 이 업체를 이용하지 않는게 좋겠습니다.

I’m writing this review after almost a year - I’m still astonished at how bad the experience was here. Pickup at the Hertz location at the airport went perfect. When I arrived at this location to return the car, there was no one inside even though we came during open hours in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday. I had to call 3 different numbers before someone finally picked up and unapologetically told me he was somewhere else and would arrive in 20 min. Upon inspection of the car, the employee pointed to a tiny scuff on the front wheel’s rim, one I wouldn’t have noticed at pickup if it was already there since it was so light and one that would easily be qualified as normal wear-and-tear if I actually caused it. No picture of the car was taken at pickup. Needless to say I drove normally throughout my trip and never hit anything. When I attempted to file a formal claim, they refused to share what the process was and what point of contact I should connect with. I eventually gave up and got refunded through my card’s insurance coverage. Would advise anyone who’s not planning on driving on cotton balls to avoid this Hertz location.

I can't understand how a company like this one with such good reviews in another countries allows "Hertz - Ljubljana" to proceed as they do. We rented a van and it was suggested by one of your employees to upgrade our insurance that covered all. We didnt even need to take pictures because it was covering "all possible damages". As good guys, we trusted them. After one week we noticed it was charged extra 50€ due to a "new scratch" that is not visible anywhere in the pictures and we are sure we haven't done it. Even if we do what happened to the "all included"? After reading (too late) some reviews i can tell this is quite regular in this company. Shame.

Darn it: I read all the negative reviews, discussed with the agent and got his assurance that our return was paid in full. THEN, a month later, I see an additional 85 euro charge on my credit card bill posted six days after my rental! My total two day rental doubled! Now it is weeks later, I didn’t keep the paperwork, and there is no explanation. IF you rent from Hertz, good luck to you.

Fast service, cars right around the corner (but that goes for every rental company here), friendly staff, a pricing issue was resolved promptly (which is definitely not the case with all Hertz offices).

Don’t rent with Hertz Ljubljana!! This Car Rental stains the name Hertz has in other countries We rented the car for one day and they charged 50€ for a“new scratch” (it was minimal) on the car that we didn’t make ( we had insurance otherwise it could be 800€, they say the 50€ were to notify the insurance company The car already had other must bigger damages registered We think they don’t notify the insurence company, they just have this metod tho charge you more 50€) They are very rude and from other comments we understand that they have this planned Even if you be super carefull and take photos the car rental its only open until 19pm week days and 1pm on weekends, so when you leave the keys trough the door after those hours they can charge you that money even without you knowing or do the scratch themselves

I’m only giving 1 star because I can’t put 0. We were charged a “new scratch” on the car that we didn’t make. If you ever rent with them do yourself a favor and have insurance and take pictures of everything. Even with insurance (the one with everything) you are still charged 50€….

No alquiléis aquí. Son muy estrictos en la devolución del coche. Nos entregaron el coche en plena tormenta, alerta roja por inundaciones, el empleado ni se molestó en indicar las marcas que tenía el vehículo. Siempre hacemos foto, pero diluviando era imposible. La devolución una revisión exhaustiva, hasta con carta de profundidad de marcas, que no lo hicieron el día de recogida. Y menos mal que pagamos seguro extra, sino, el alquiler de 4 días habría salido por más de 1000€. Evitad esta oficina, deberían ser flexibles al haber climatología extrema, menos mal que no granizó!!!

Wir hatten einen Kleinwagen für 3 Wochen gebucht - Polo oder ähnliches. Ist zwar ein Clio geworden war aber auch ok. Der Wagen hatte nur knapp 3.000 Km war Sauber und in einen einwandfreien Zustand. Nur mit den 65PS wird es anstrengend in den Bergen. Die Abholung wie die Abgabe liefen einwandfrei und ohne Probleme.

I rented from Hertz because I had previously only good experiences with them (in other countries). However i must agree with the previous reviewer, as they now tried to charge me 810 Euros for an absolutely minor scratch at the bumper which was definitely not caused by us, as we didn't touch anything. Also I'm certain that scratch wasn't even fixed, as they didn't provide a picture of the "fixed" bumper. Avoid this location.

I rented a car online with a said price. Upon collection, I was told of various hidden charges that was not explicit (such as one way fee, cross-border fee), and finally, the balance was exorbitantly higher than what I should have paid, which automatically was reduced from my bank, and no itemised invoice was issued. Very deceptive. Very disappointing from a world renowned hire company. Furthermore, the original car I booked was unavailable upon collection.
