Avoid at all cost! I am victim of the same feit as someone who posted a similar note on Google only 2 hours ago: When I took the car at the airport, the guy at the desk was alone, told me I had to do the check of the vehicle myself and report any damage. I saw none. Also, the vehicle was in the garage so the photos I took as a precaution were not the greatest. When I gave the vehicle back 9 days later, a technician took the time to inspect the vehicle, using a striped sheet of plastic to render any damage. And guess what, they found 3 dents (less than 2 or 3 millimiters each for the dents, probably from a door banging on mine in a parking place), and so they decided to file a report, to hold my caution, and said that I would be contacted by the damage department for a future repair and invoice. The guy showed me also the damage pre-report where scratch + dents are noted, saying there is no way to say only scratch or dent, they go together. So I have two dents, noted as 2 scratches and dents which is not true... This is the first time that this happen to me (I am a frequent traveller and a frequent renter, always careful), and I can only see -reading the numerous similar experiences on Google advices- that it is not the first time for Hertz staff at this desk. This kind of process where the renter asks you to do the pre-check with your eyes, and a professional does the post-check with some dedicated tools, looks at least suspicious, gave stress to all my family waiting for me, and yes the guy just explains you that "sorry" but he is just doing his work. I will bring some more details here as soon as I have some :-( Update: Hertz did a debit on my card for 195 EUR. So despite their e-mail saying to contact them to arrange things, they unilateraly decided to go with their little operation. It looks like a well-organised practice, as my friend, who did stay with us at the same time in Slovenia, and who rented 2 cars at the same airport (but with a different company) was a victim of exactly the same process.

Предложили сделать полную страховку с самого начала. Сделали. Когда сдавали машину указал представитель на заржавевшую царапину, которую мы не фотографировали, потому как не было достаточно света чтобы ее вообще разглядеть. Представитель почему то пальцем прошелся по колесу и обнаружил заржавевшую царапину как это могло произойти за неделю без дождей не понятно и за что 50 евро тоже не понятно. Нагибают туристов

Fuyez cette agence. Méthode d'arnaqueur : on vous laisse prendre les photos de la voiture tout seul...bien sûr vous pouvez faire un album complet, il y aura toujours un endroit de la voiture que vous aurez raté. A votre retour, un agent fait le tour de la voiture à la recherche de micro rayures, si elles n'apparaissent pas sur la photo, il en cherche une autre...une fois trouvé (évidemment, il en trouve toujours), il dit "damage" !!! Vous contestez et si vous arrivez à effacer la trace, il en cherche une autre alors qu'il avait fini son inspection. Bref, vous ne partirez pas sans un rapport de "damage" L'agent vous dira qu'il ne fait que son "job"...reste à savoir lequel, l'arnaqueur ou le loueur, moi, maintenant, je sais...fuyez pauvre bougre, c'est une agence de malfaiteurs. J'ai tellement contesté les traces qu'il trouvait sur la portière conducteur (la seule que l'on ne puisse pas dire "on ne la pas utilisée", malin le lynx), qu'ils ont pris dans mon dos une trace sur le seuil du coffre...du grand art, des vrais pro de l'arnaque. Les impacts retenus en ma présence sont inférieurs à 2 mm (voir photo)

차량 반납 시 한참을 구석구석 확인하던 직원원 타이어휠에 흡집이 있어 수리비 청구하겠다고 하는데, 타 렌트카를 여러 번 이용해 봤지만 이런 경우는 없었는데, 피해를 당하지 않으려면 렌트 후 구석구석 전부 사진을 찍어두고, 차량손실 면책프로그램(자차보험, LDW(Loss Damage Waiver))에 가입해도 보험처리가 안되는 부분은 더 많은 사진을 찍어둬야 수리비 청구에 대응이 가능하겠네요. 즐겁게 여행을 마무리하려면 이 업체를 이용하지 않는게 좋겠습니다.

Rented a car through Hertz twice here and never had any issues. The car selection isn't huge (or huge compared to Sixt, for example), but they do the job and I never really need anything fancy for going around. All of their cars are well-maintained, have a vignette included, have a set of mandatory winter tires during the winter months, and basically new. The staff are also very friendly and were always happy to answer any of my questions.

To add insult to injury, when I sought further clarification from external sources, I discovered that Herzt Slovenia had a history of similar complaints. It became clear that I was not alone in experiencing their dishonest practices. In light of this experience, I strongly advise potential customers to exercise extreme caution when considering renting from Herzt Slovenia. It is imperative to thoroughly inspect the vehicle before renting and document any pre-existing damages. Take pictures, note any discrepancies, and be sure to keep copies of the rental agreement to protect yourself from unjust claims. Overall, my encounter with Herzt Slovenia left me feeling defrauded and disillusioned. Their attempt to scam customers by fabricating damages is unacceptable and tarnishes the reputation of the car rental industry as a whole. I strongly advise exploring alternative options to ensure a hassle-free and trustworthy car rental experience. Remember, vigilance and awareness are key when dealing with car rental companies. Your hard-earned money and peace of mind deserve better treatment than what Herzt Slovenia provided. Edit: Do notice that even though their response bellow, I have pictures taken prior driving that prove that they are trying to scam their customers.

I rented a car as a Gold member from Hertz at Ljubljana airport for 2 months. When I turned the vehicle back in they charged me 45 euros for an extra day saying I got the car a day earlier than my reservation. There was only one staff members that handled both check in and returns. I said that was incorrect as I had their check in form that confirmed I checked in on the exact day. Also I had my Lufthansa airline information in clouding online baggage check that said I was on a flight from Munich to Ljubljana on the correct day of my reservation. The staff said the computer was accurate and would not adjust. He then had a line up of other people wanted their vehicle so I left. Be careful of your final billing as they may add on other costs that are not accurate.

Do not trust these guys. I have hired a car many, many times within Europe and have had no issues (have even had pleasant experiences with other Hertz stores too), but these guys will look to take advantage wherever they can and this time we were the unlucky ones. We hired a car for a 4 day trip around Slovenia. When we returned the car back the worker claimed we had scratched 2 marks on the rim of the wheel of car and sent us a bill for 486 euros to repair. I would be very wary of using these guys and if you do make sure you spend at least 20 minutes combing over the car before you take it. Our one mistake was not taking a photo of every part of car before we left. We had a photo of most of the car; but unfortunately hadn’t taken photos of each individual wheel

A éviter absolument, agence non sérieuse Qui n’hésitera pas à vous extorquer 146€ supplémentaire pour un dommage que vous n’aurez pas commis ..! Ne faite pas comme moi, et refuser de prendre le véhicule sans établir un Check in minutieux en leur présence ( car ils feront tout pour vous laisser prendre le véhicule sans état des lieu en votre présence ) et ainsi pouvoir en toute facilité vous taxer des dommages tout petits déjà présents. Facile de proposer des prix bas avec ces méthodes. Bref agence d’escros...! Je ne louerais plus jamais chez Hertz et je vous encourage à en faire autant. N’importe quel loueur fera forcément mieux que hertz
