Saw a dent that wasn't included on the form when we picked up the car. Called the guy and he wrote it down. Same guy tried to pin the same dent on us when we returned the car. Whole hassle, but we had proof. 1 month later we receive a letter saying no new damage was found. Another month later, a new letter with an invoice for fixing the SAME dent... nice try! Make sure you make enough videos and photos, especially with this malpractice

They upsold me on the damage waver with scare tactics, then charged me for way more fuel than was missing from the tank. The final rental price was about 3 times the price on the reservation. The parking lot to pick up the car is also a ridiculous hike from the office.

I have rent a car here twice. Both times they charged me for a damage, I have not caused. The damage department had no understanding when I told them I cannot have caused the damage on the car, so I had to pay it. This is really the worst car rental I have ever been to, never again with SIXT!

Honestamente una experiencia terrible , no por el servicio de alquiler de coches en sí mismo sino por la atención a las incidencias.
La furgoneta alquilada nos dejó tirados en un pueblo cerca de Italia supuestamente por un fallo técnico. El problema fue que al llamar al número de incidencias nos mintieron en la cara , lo que supuestamente sería 1h y media/2 acabarán siendo 4 o 5 y al llegar los conductores con dos coches en vez de uno nos dijeron que a ellos no les habían comunicado ninguna prisa ni hora a la que debían llegar. Por cierto todo esto a mediados de agosto con 30 grados y la disculpa si la hubo fue achacarlo todo a un problema de comunicación

STAY AWAY FROM this Sixt and the one at Ljubljana Train Station. We picked up from station, dropped at airport. I’m not sure who is writing these positive reviews but I’m guessing not many are actual customers! WORST experience we’ve ever had, and we’ve rented cars around the world. Car was fine, pickup was fine but between then and reservation we had read reviews and become concerned they were going to try to scam us. Sure enough, at drop off, they literally have two employees climbing all about the car, pointing and photographing and rubbing dirt around to see all the “damages”. We are 50+, as I’ve said, rent cars often (not from sixt, and will never, ever, again). Never had one issue, EVER. Usually drop off is grab your stuff, they look at dash, walk around car, go. Five minutes! This time, we stood outside in the cold, while they poured over this car for 20 minutes! Then they started showing us “damage”. A dent - if it was there (seriously microscopic what they pointed out) we didn’t do it. Two window chips! Chips were there when pointed out, no idea if they were there whole time - not noticeable so can’t be sure, and window was frozen over when we picked up and took our original photos - as was whole car, frosted over. At pick up they show you photos of damage to A car, so you supposedly know what is there but there’s no way to know it’s the one you’re taking to start with. We refused to sign on the damage and now they are sending us damage reports for two chips and a dent with paint damage. Utterly ridiculous!! TRUST ME, IT IS NOT WORTH IT - GO ELSEWHERE. We definitely should have looked at reviews better and that’s on us, I guess. We will be fighting this, obviously and our credit card has already said they’ll handle fighting it, but DON’T MAKE SAME MISTAKE - check a few places, you’ll see this routine repeated in many reviews! It’s a shame because Slovenia is a lovely country with lovely people and this business is trying to mar that by scamming visitors.

This location is closed for renovations. I picked up my car from Piran and was not told this Ljubljana location was closed when booking. Upon returning the car to this location there was no indication that this location was closed and the r lights were on. I went to the next closest location at the train station and it was a mess trying to find the location to drop off. Avoid the Ljubljana in town locations and just rent from the airport instead. Staff at Ljubljana and Piran locations were courteous and the car was good but communications could be better. Ridiculous that they don’t tell you a drop off location is closed!

Rented a car with them for a day, when we returned it they claimed we had left a mark on the door which was already there. We have photo proof that it was from a previous time but they are still taking 100Euro from our deposit.
I’d recommend going away but here, as you can see from the many other reviews, they are scamming people all the time!

We specifically selected this location for pick-up due to its close proximity to our accommodations. One hour before we were to collect our rental, I received an email saying we would be unable to retrieve the car from this location and would need to go to the train station branch instead. We were on a tight schedule and called to ask if they could pick us up or send a taxi, given this was not part of the agreement. The staff were entirely unsympathetic and completely unwilling to work with us to find a solution.
We were forced to walk 20 minutes in the rain to pick up our car. This delay, combined with a lengthy pick-up process, caused us to leave Ljubljana almost an hour later than planned, causing us to miss our pre-booked tour of Postojna Cave.
The car itself smelled intensely of cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking car, and the icing on the cake was when SIXT attempted to double charge us for the rental at the end of our trip (we had two charges for the same amount on our credit card bill that month).
We were incredibly disappointed by our overall experience with SIXT in Slovenia, particularly when we’ve had such positive experiences with the company in other countries.

STAY WELL CLEAR. over 6 months ago I had a car from these people. The car was damaged from the previous user, on the front. when I returned the car they initially claimed I had scratched the front then agreed that the damage was from the previous crash. Deposit was returned and as far as I was aware the case was closed. I now have a debt collector contact me out of the blue wanting money. these guys are crooks and conmen they sent me out with a damaged car and are now trying to charge me to fix someone else's damage. appalling behaviour and you should to avoid them at all costs.

Pick up in the city centre was efficient and helpful. On returning the car to the airport we were surprised that the office staff did not want to check the car before we signed the paperwork and left. This is standard practice so that both parties agree no damage has been done - either during the trip or in the car park. After we insisted, the girl there reluctantly checked it but was obviously annoyed.

Please have an option for 0 stars. This place is ridiculous. I've been renting cars for a long time and this place decided to charge me 3x the amount I was quoted.
I returned the car before they were open and left the keys and took a picture since I had a feeling they were going to mess up. And they did, they added 3 additional days to my rental and they also charged a one way fee that was not included in my additional quote.
Their invoice (which is wrong) didnt even match the pending charge on my credit card. I do not understand why they're still in business. DO NOT rent from any location.
I will be working with my credit card company to contest this. How is this not illegal? They are literally making up charges and charging customers up the behind.

We are an American family who spent two weeks in Ljubljana over the holidays. We rented an electric car from Sixt’s downtown location, and worked primarily with Jure Becan. We had never driven an electric car, never driven abroad. We needed clarification on everything from charging, parking, directions, billing—and Jure Becan helped us every step of the way, including nights, weekends, and holidays. We highly recommend Sixt, and Jure Becan in particular.
