Even though the gate was unlocked, the best kept parts (floor heating in the old bathroom) are covered. It’s an improvised structure of wooden slats making it impossible to see the remains. A proper covering would help make it more accessible and ensure longevity

Lepo arheološko najdišče rimske podeželske vile (villa rustica). Škoda je le, ker je (oz. sploh ni) pripravljeno za ogled, ampak je prekrito z lesenimi pokrovi, ki tudi že razpadajo. Glede na pomembnost in posebnost najdišča bi bilo zelo lepo, če bi se dalo več videti oz. bi bilo lepše prezentirano.

If you want to take a little stroll through history this is a right place to go. Here are the remains of a roman villa rustica from 1st century A.D. that was probably in use for almost 400 years. Located not far from village Mošnje, it was discovered during the excavations for the new highway in 2006. The villa was excavated in present form in 2007. The archaeological remains are a very nice piece of history and worth to explore for all who like ancient roman times. The archaeological site is surrounded by a fence for protection but the doors are unlocked so it is possible to enter the site and take a good look at the remains and also to enjoy a little bit of history from roman times. In the nearby village of Mošnje there is a small museum that has an exibition of the artefacts that were found in the villa.
