Great spot to have a brunch! The service is really kind and quick. The menu is wise so you can pick whatever you want. I really enjoyed my breakfast!

Eigentlich haben wir versucht, per Email einen Platz für das Frühstück zu reservieren, jedoch selbest nach mehreren Tagen keine Antwort erhalten. Vor Ort haben wir es dann noch einmal probiert und wurden angeschnauzt, dass keine Reservierung am Wochenende möglich ist. Leider ist diese Information aber nirgends ersichtlich. Eine Reservierung war schlussendlich nicht möglich. Service sehr unhöflich und unfreundlich.

Markus hi, I am sorry to hear about your bad experience, but yes - unfortunately during the winter time with a very limited space inside we can not take reservations. During summer we have a lot of space outside and reservations are possible, but during winter with only a few tables inside its impossible to take a reservation for breakfast, since if we want to guarantee you a table it needs to stay empty maybe 30min or an hour in advance and with a short brunch period and only about 8 tables inside we can't afford taking reservations in the cold part of the year. During the weekend there is normally a short line in the front with normal waiting times of 10,15min.. I hope you consider coming back at another time. Best, Ek Bistro

Really good breakfast/brunch. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly. I highly recommend their special eggs Benedict with pulled beef. It’s a bit pricey and the food took a while to come out (the place was packed!), but I still give them 5 stars for the quality of food.

Unfortunately no cinnamon rolls. Try Pekarna malo drugace — straight out the door, across the river, and through the building then to the left at the street — if you want cinnamon rolls.

a very popular breakfast / brunch place in Ljubljana, and quite rightly so. the eggs benedict are cooked to perfection and the hollandaise is one of the best in town. bacon is crispy and the fries absolutely delicious. the shakshuka is a miss for me, but it is nice to see on the menu the piece de resistance is the french toast with a finger smacking custard and topped with fresh fruits of the season. make sure to get some coffee with it, and it's good to share 🙂 if traveling on a budget, this may not be a place to go though

Waited 30 minutes for simple dish (eggs). I asked for esspresso lungo, they gave me americano. Waiters a little bit slow.

Wow. Amazing brunch! Must try!!! Was walking along the river hoping to find a place for breakfast and we stumbled upon this incredible bistro. The façade looks very ordinary. There was even ongoing roadworks happening just in front of the entrance so I was a little hesitant at first. Good thing we still went in! The brick wall and ceiling interior adds a nice vibe to the place. The food was amazing. Very big portions considering the price. Food presentation was similarly great! Just look at the picture I took! Food and coffee were served within a few minutes. Food quality and flavour are outstanding. Staff who attended to us was also kind and welcoming. Overall, well deserved 5/5! Would come here again next time I visit Ljubljana. I highly recommend!!!

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Croissants were baked to perfection. Each one of our dishes was worthy of recommendation: royals with salmon, bread with avocado and poached egg, and shakshuka.
