I took my oldest daughter here because she had a rash on her arm, Nicole Colandrea tells her it’s shingles! We went to see a different doctor and he verified it was contact dermatitis! This lady is clueless, i don’t know how she even passed her boards. Don’t go to this place, and if you do always get a 2nd opinion!

I think a lot people go here because it's basically the only dermatology group in Hoboken, but please don't. You will consistently wait over an hour for your appointment. I have never seen more unprofessional or rude staff. And the billing department is the worst. They made me pay in-person both BEFORE and AFTER my appointment... to prices that they literally made up on the spot and had to go back into the office to confirm the numbers with the doctor...then I received a bill in the mail... which I paid... but they apparently sent the same bill to my insurance... who also paid. I have spent hours on the phone with them trying to be reimbursed for the double payment. It's literal fraud and scams. Just save yourself the trouble and go to a different group. Let's not help these people scam to make more money.

Dr Priyanka Gumaste was the only dermatologist that was able to detect a melanoma in situ in one of my moles (I might have 200 moles total). I can just say good thing about her and feel grateful.

Update: 6/24 Schweiger comments on your review encouraging you to contact them to help resolve this but once you do, absolutely nothing happens and then they send you to collections. Extremely dishonest practice. On their website, they encourage you to text them to “find out if we accept your insurance.” I did, and then immediately received a call back from a representative that let me know that their Hoboken office was Tier 1 with my insurance. I felt pressured to make an appointment on the spot, but I said I wanted to be certain that they were Tier 1, because Tier 2 charges would go toward my deductible. He assured me that their Hoboken office was indeed Tier 1. I should have ultimately confirmed this with my insurance but did not because I trusted the practice would be providing accurate information. I went to my appointment and shortly after received a bill from their office for an additional $94.62 on top of the copay I already paid. When I tried to appeal this with my insurance, I was informed that the Hoboken office was not Tier 1. I then called the billing department at Schweiger to inform them that I given inaccurate information by their office, and they essentially told me there was nothing they could do; I owed them the difference. I asked them to pull the phone call with the representative so they could see that I would not have made an appointment with this office had I known they were not Tier 1. Again, they refused and told me the bill was my responsibility. Shame on Schweiger for encouraging new clients to text them and then intentionally providing false information.

This doctor’s office is routinely unorganized and disappointing. Last time I went for a routine skin check I waited 1.5 hours to even be called to the room. I learned the admin forgot to check me in (despite me checking many times whether she had). Today my husband, who is an oncologist himself, took the earliest appointment ON HIS BIRTHDAY, because he never has time off. When he arrived the admin said the doctor would be one hour behind, “traffic.” My husband cares for people all day every day and would never treat any patient with such disregard. This place is not patient centric. By the way, the Schweiger Derm on 55 and Park avenue is the antithesis of this practice. I would sooner schlep into nyc than ever go back to this practice that has exactly zero respect for its patient’s time.

The office never called to discuss my lab results. I followed up daily once I noticed the results in my online portal. To this day, the doctor refuses to speak with me about the results. In addition, the office and staff are rude. I will be transferring care to a different office.

We love Dr. Gumaste, she really cares, looks with solutions, listens to the patient, explains, and is genuinely emphatic. We never feel rushed. We also like that we never have to wait long.

Provider was very abrupt, did not seem interested in what I had to say, was in and out in less than 7 minutes.

Scheduled an appointment for 8:40 am and was not called back for nearly an hour. By then, I had to leave due to business commitments. This location clearly does not value the time of its patience and doesn't concern themselves with providing timely services.

I waited longer for the doctor to come into the room than my appointment lasted. He even put a glove on but never touched my face it felt like a joke of an appointment. He looked at me and just gave me a cream for acne though I have sensitive skin and it would severely dry me out and make what was happening worst. All in all worst dermatological experience I have had and I will not be returning. And then to think I would be paying $50 for that. Which they told me before my copay was $30. Thankful to the lady up front who tried to help me find a new doctor and was patient with me even thought I was so upset.

I like my experience so far and that’s mostly because Dr. Gumaste is really great. She is attentive to address my skincare needs and she is very kind and so is her staff. The services are very expensive and I should have looked at previous reviews. I’m not surprised there are people not pleased with the front desk staff. They should really get new receptionists. They are very rude and unwelcoming which is off putting. The receptionist woman is very judgy with an attitude that is so unecessary.

I scheduled an appointment weeks in advance, and this office contacted me several times to confirm that I would, in fact, be making it to the appointment on time. While annoying, I understand the frustration of being "stood up," so I always confirmed that, yes, I would be there for the appointment. On the morning of the appointment, after making time in my busy schedule, Schweiger Dermatology contacted me and canceled because the PA was unavailable. No explanation, just a message to call and reschedule.

My PCP gave me a referral to see Dr. Gumaste for a lesion in my tear-trough area. Priyanka didn't know what it was and didn't try to decipher. Board certified? ($200 out of pocket) She recommended I go to Schweigger in Hackensack which has lacluskter results and terrible reviews. She initially told me to send her pics as she thought my issue would resolve itself however it is impossible to get in touch with her. A receptionist responds and claims to relay the message. Did I mention I would have to pay another consultation fee even though I already paid for my initial appt under Schweigger? Pleasant demeanor but lazy & careless. Also, my initial appt was canceled day of as she left early for an emergency. I had to wait 3 weeks longer for no resolution or information.
