At Mak you will not have just a meal. You will have a unique experience. We visited with a group of 30+ people and each one of the six dishes was like it was prepared for one single person. Surprisingly extraordinary in looks and taste. Welcoming, warm, funny, interesting, inspiring. You need to visit Maribor just to go to Mak. I had not written a review for years. My recent visit to Mak, an understated fine dining establishment, left me thoroughly impressed. The staff was not only attentive but also exceptionally friendly, adding a warm touch to the dining experience.
One minor suggestion is that the tasting menu could be streamlined as it may feel a bit overwhelming due to its extensive offerings.
However, the star of the show was undoubtedly the food. Each dish was a masterpiece, featuring bold flavors, impeccable presentation, and top-notch ingredients. The culinary team at Mak clearly takes great pride in their craft.
In conclusion, Mak offers an amazing fine dining experience that I wholeheartedly recommend. Whether it's a special occasion or a desire for exceptional cuisine, this hidden gem is a must-visit. I can't wait to return for another unforgettable meal.

I have never spent 5 hours, 30 minutes at a restaurant for dinner. 3 hours at a Michelin Starred restaurant is normal; this was not. Please do not be confused: this is not a Michelin Restaurant…not even close. This is an amateur chef playing with food and your time. He is quirky, mischievous, and a bit mad, though none of this comes through in the food or the experience. There were pointless snacks for the fiest 2 hours that were mostly boring bites that had no place in a restaurant that claims to be creative. When the courses finally began coming, each course miraculously exceeded the last course’s disappointment. We were so perplexed. We thought we were being “Punked.” The time in between courses was ridiculous, often 20-30 minutes. Mak was moving at a Mach Zero pace and putting out poor to mediocre dishes. The experience dulled our senses and with the bill total of 250 Euros for 2, we were greatly disappointed.
