Nicht billig, dafür gibt es aber vier Stunden laufend kommende Gänge (habe bei 15 aufgehört zu zählen) und jede Menge schräge Unterhaltung - die gehört hier zum Gesamteindruck dazu.

Das hat mich beeindruckt. Ein gutes Teil Show, tolles Personal und Chef, phantasievolle Speisefolge und jetzt kommt's: exquisit in Geschmack in vielen Varianten. Ein Menüpunkt macht Vorfreude auf den nächsten und den nächsten und ... Dazu eine traumhafte Weinbegleitung! Nicht für alle Tage, denn der Abend wird zu einem besonderen, an den man sich gerne erinnert. Viel Zeit, Geld und noch mehr Vergnügen.

We discovered Mak before our trip to Slovenia and were so excited to try it based on all of the reviews. We knew somewhat what to expect after reading them. First and foremost, dining here for lunch and dinner requires a reservation. Expect to spend 3-5 hours at the restaurant for the medium meal. We were welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine outside (they do charge quite a lot for this, which surprised us a bit). There was a family of five dining with us that evening. We were served beautifully prepared dishes, all in all totaling around 10-12 plates. The only negative thing I can say is that they gave the family (dutch speakers) significantly more attention than us. It appeared this was due to a language barrier (we are english speakers). The dishes weren't usually explained to us in any detail, which is maybe part of the mystery. The check out was also a bit confusing. He took the family outside and told us to wait. They stood outside and drank and chatted, and we sat for at least 30 minutes just waiting to check out. The check out took another 30 minutes for us. It took us 5 hours from start to end. As others have said, don't be surprised at the large bill at the end. The food is excellent and the chef is quite the character. You will need a sense of humor to eat here! We enjoyed him a lot.

Wow, what an experience. Do you want mystery, ambience, and absolutely incredible food? This is the place for you. I came to Maribor as a stop over while visiting from Boston. I chose Maribor specifically for this restaurant. The food was incredible and so thoughtfully put together. Every dish was a surprise and a mystery, which kept you guessing as the night went on. I did the Medium tasting menu; between the wine pairing and the many courses, I nearly had to be rolled out. They were nice enough to order me a taxi as they bantered and explained parts of Maribor. Some reviews mention price. You don't know how much it'll be before the end, and you don't choose what you eat (so the price is out of your hands). I was fine with that as the restaurant makes that clear well before you arrive. No price trickery, just a less common pricing structure. I wouldn't plan anything else after your meal, as it was about a 3-4 hour experience. All in all, everyone was so attentive and kind. The chef is eccentric and he knows his stuff. He is artistic and clearly puts a ton of passion into what he does. The food is an experience, a piece of art, and a joy. Thank you again, Mak. I'll be back!

6 Stunden lauwarmes Essen, geschmacklich gut optisch naja, bei circa 16 Gängen wurde nur ein einziger (!), das Amuse-Bouche, erklärt sonst kommentarlos auf den Tisch gestellt. Zieht sich leider zu lange das Ganze, verstehe die 17 Punkte nicht.
