Wir hatten einen tollen Ausflug . Nach einer netten Kajak Tour kehrten wir in das tolle kleine Haus -Hisa Franko ein. Personal war sehr aufmerksam , man fühlte sich sofort wohl und sah das sich alle mit der philosophie des Hauses identifizierten. Am Abend hatten wir ein ausgezeichnetes 17 gängiges Menü. Komplett harmonisch und mir wurde es nie Zuviel. Normal meide ich diese langen Abendessen , aber hier hatte alles einen sehr leichten Touch, es spiegelte die ganze Umgebung. Ich verstehe die Rezessionen wenn man glaubt man muss mit einem überfüllten Magen schlafen gehen. Da wir Freude an guter Küche haben, wissen wir aber das gute Küche nichts mit sich voll essen zu tun hat. Die Wein Empfehlungen das Ambiente und das Personal waren äußerst passend , sehr freundlich und immer zur stelle. Das essen ein Traum für den Gaumen. Das Frühstück am nächsten morgen noch mal ein Gedicht. Wer schon mal zb. Amador , Mratz( mein Lieblingslokal ) Hubert Wallner, besucht hat , der erkennt den unterschied. Ein großes Lob an die ganze Belegschaft des Hauses ! PS.wer aber auf Haubenniveau und mehr am Teller, essen will , unbedingt zum BÄRENWIRT in Hermagor .

I have been at this place back in 2019 when Slovenia did not have Michelin stars, Valter was still the wine guru at Hisa Franko and we were able to chill in the wine cellar after the meal which was a crazy experience. Now the place has 3 stars and the place is still crazy good, there are no surprises in the menu though as everything is revealed on the menu prior to the start. Everything seems slightly rehearsed but we had an amazing evening and the food was divine. Prices definitely on 3 star niveau. Did it loose some of the magic from back in 2019, probably yes but thats very personal. The non alcoholic pairing by the way is highly recommended. I wish the place all the success and hope they try to protect the Slovenian identity and hospitality and the magic of the Soca Valley

Who knew that a lacto fermented tomato, elderflower, elderberries and tarragon bouchée or hay baked potato could taste soooo good! Apparently the team at Hisa Franko did! I had an amazing experience at Hisa Franko. Now, did I adore 100% of the bouchées and dishes? No. But I enjoyed them all... Enjoyment is a unique concept ...it's the process of taking pleasure in something. Pleasure is not a defined state like good or bad... But it's a process... Service at the Hisa Franko restaurant is impeccably professional. I like how all the staff worked as team, complementing each other ❤️ I never felt like there wasn't any interruption or discontinuity in the service, every one knew where the other had left of. In every dish I had, I could taste every single ingredient present, individually and in their togetherness! As for, the wine pairing it is very very generous... Multiple refills and for a gourmande like me, I had to be careful! Nothetheless, it let's you explore all the flavors and aromas you ever want to...and as I have at hisa Franko you can I travel across the world through the food and wine! Had a 15 course tasting menu and my stand out dishes were the opening bouchées (lacto fermented tomato, celeriac, carrot kebab). I also loved the potatoe, the melon and garden berries, the tortilla... Bref I loved it all! Breakfast the next morning was like a cornucopia of delicious things.... I did not meet Ana but got to meet some passionate people that work with her... And if I take it from them .. she must be a true inspiration!

Hiša Franko is the best restaurant I’ve been to. Each course was carefully crafted and presented. The dishes flowed well without being too heavy at the end of the meal. Amazing plays on textures in each dish and unexpected spices on some of the dishes! Wine pairs were perfect as well! Very decently priced for the high quality and great service! Finally, the breakfast was delicious with a variety of fruits, cold cuts, bread, honey, and jams. You can get other items for a fair price. We stayed at the hotel too. Rooms were very cozy, comfortable, and updated! Showers were amazing.

The experience at Hisa Franko was incredible. The food was difficult to describe. It's up there with the greatest meals I've eaten. You are served by a team who create an approachable and elegant environment. They were also excellent. Breakfast should also not be missed!

Room 6 to be avoided for non-smokers:||Should say that the restaurant is world class and the overall atmosphere wonderful. Main flaw of room 6 is that below the window, downstairs, there is a little table where folks keep smoking. With the smoke travelling straight into room 6 upstairs.||Not a good predude for the amazing dinner …

Hiša Franko was truly a magical experience. My husband and I found this restaurant while researching and planning our honeymoon/fly fishing trip to Slovenia. Our expectations were high after learning of all of the accolades and Netflix Chef’s Table feature (S2E5). From start to finish, the staff treated us like we were family in their home. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness in each dish as it pays homage to the surrounding valley is evident with every bite. We both did separate wine pairings (Classic and Funky) which only elevated the experience further. It’s truly a place that should be on your bucket list. 10 out of 10. One day we will be back.

Un restaurant qui propose une véritable expérience. Un chemin à parcourir. Un investissement en effet, mais ça valait terriblement le coup. Personnel adorable qui explique tout et prenne le temps, sachant que je devais traduire pour mon mari qui ne parle pas anglais. Donc plat après plat, nous avons pris le temps de traduire pour qu'il vive l'expérience complètement. Les solutions sans alcool sont très intéressantes et j'ai varié avec et sans toute la soirée, c'était très agréable. Je conseille vivement !
