Sadly this is a tourist trap extraordinaire. While I understand being short staffed, ignoring a two-top in favor of larger parties is inexcusable. The least staff could have done is acknowledged their shortcomings (hell, we dropped enough hints we’re foodies, winos and former industry folks ourselves). Kudos to the chef for the delightful amuse-bouche and first appetizer - both were flawless and it is regrettable that we couldn’t enjoy the remainder of your preparations. The bites we enjoyed were perfectly executed and delicious. The failure here (and ultimate low ranking) is due to the front of the house team clearly intent on racking up wine sales and paying attention only to larger house parties - even those that were seated significantly later than our two-top. The whole debacle could have been avoided with an acknowledgment, a wave that someone would be right there, or an apology for the awkward delays. Enjoy a meal the heart of town, try one of the many wine bars, or take your business to a local proprietor who appreciates your visit and wants to showcase his/her business. I don’t know where the other positive reviewers ate but we were not at the same restaurant. This was the worst dinner in Lubjlana we didn’t have. We showed up for dinner excited and had researched their wine list which was great. We ordered a nice bottle to start and things went downhill from there. The manager was very focused on other large group tables so we weren’t able to get advice on a second bottle. He was very gracious and apologized when the issue was raised but at that point we were done. While the appetizers were actually delicious, we should have known to avoid a corporate restaurant. They also manage the restaurant at Bled Castle so clearly not after the fine dining crowd. This was evidenced by the fact they don’t have a sommelier. We recommend you stick to other great restaurants in Ljubljana such as Julija, Cubo and Monstera Bistro (where we had lovely dining experiences and great wine and food advice) that appreciate your business and have service. We should have stuck to our mantra of don’t dine at a tourist attraction. Also, if you look at my other reviews, you can see I’m very generous on friendly, quality places. It takes a lot for me to give a bad review.

Che altro dire, una cena davvero stellare! Questo ristorante merita almeno una stella Michelin! Location suggestiva situata all'interno di un castello con affreschi antichi. Il menù degustazione da 5 portate costa circa 50 euro senza l'abbinamento con i vini (in Italia minimo 150!). In più ci sono gli assaggi regalati dalla cucina (2 o 3), il caffè è accompagnato da altrettanti dolci. Ogni piatto è una combinazione armoniosa di ingredienti ricercati, gusti sorprendenti... veramente un viaggio culinario per il palato! I camerieri sono stati super cortesi, preparati nel loro mestiere. Non avendo ancora stampato il menù in inglese ci hanno spiegato piatto per piatto e sono stati anche molto disponibili a soddisfare le nostre richieste e a rispondere le nostre curiosità. Alla fine siamo uscite con la pancia pienissima e veramente soddisfatte. Non poteva finire meglio il nostro viaggio in Slovenia! Questo ristorante rimarrà nel mio cuore e lo consiglierò di sicuro! PS: prenotate in anticipo altrimenti molto probabilmente non troverete posto!

One of the best fine dining restaurant in Ljubljana. I think they deserve a Michelin star and I believe they will get it on the next Michelin visit.

Amazing. Wonderful. Exepctional. Love the place, tha atmosphere. Place is well designed and even the wall frescos are wonderful and historically informative. The menu is just 5, 7 or 9 plates, so you dont have to think about anything, just decide how hungry you are :) the wine selection is very good and they really try to tell a well rounded story with their flavors and pairings. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a moment of hedonism and pure delight. Will be coming back soon, for sure. And btw.. the view is to die for!

Phenomenal place with top knotch food and wine card. Not for everyone's taste, though. Friendly and highly professional staff. Must visit if in Ljubljana.
