Probably the worst service I’ve seen in a mountain hut. It was an ordinary Tuesday and the servers seemed like they were partying all night, no energy, tired and bored of life. Only two other tables were occupied, so not much was going on. We ordered two main dishes and a local “desert”… main dishes arrived quite fast but the desert was no where in sight. After some time I went to check whats happening… we found out they didn’t even acknowledged we ordered it. OK, no problem… I ordered a new one, paid immediately and went back out. 45 Minutes passed and we were still waiting!? I went back in AGAIN. Asked whats happening with our order, showed them the bill and they just looked at each-other confused… Was told to wait another 10 minutes. At this point I was quite mad since we just got back after an 8 hour hike and waiting one hour for a damn dumpling was not expected. Then FINALLY after 20 minutes we got the desert and left. Food was good but not worth the wait.

This hut is located in a truly beautiful setting - surrounded by stunning mountains! We stayed for few nights and really enjoyed the experience. The room was very small, but comfortable (our room had a private bathroom, the dorms don’t have any, but even the shared bathrooms are very clean). Overall the hut has very homely and cosy atmosphere. Booking a room was a bit confusing, as with most Slovenian mountain huts there is very little information available and you are never quite sure what you are getting. I emailed the hut directly and booked that way, which was easy enough. The hut is a great base for hiking nearby and for exploring the Triglav park in general.

Such a lovely and underrated hut! I will never forget melancholic sounds of cow bells ringing into the night. It was hauntingly beautiful. I recommend you stay for the night and order a breakfast the next day. The rooms are very much hut-like but cosy and the bathrooms are clean. The staff is very nice and you will be treated well. :) This is a good stop on the way to Krn mountain, also approachable by a tourist bus.
