We went in November early in the morning few years ago and there were no turists, quite cold, but a calm and quiet place with an absolutely astounding view. A must go if you are nearby.

Schöne und sehenswerte Hochalm. Nach dem Cable Car etwa eine einstündige Wanderung bis zum Bergdorf. Der Sessellift, welcher fast in das Dorf führt, ist derzeit außer Betrieb. Bei den Hirten hatten wir eine traditionelle Mahlzeit zugenommen - gebratenes Fett / Schmalz mit Buchweizengrieß sowie selbst hergestellten Käse.

Velika Planina is beautiful and worth to visit despite of quite a lot of tourists. But it's still ok and this place keeps its authentic form. I recommend to spend there whole day or at least several hours.

First cable car then hike on ski slope, no ski chair. Amazing view and lots of snow. Recommend

It was the start of our trail after taking the cable car and chair lift and wow what amazing views we had over the nearby mountains, villages and eventually Velika settlement itself! Highly recommended to take the trail from here up to Mala Planina!

Maravilloso lugar. El asentamiento de pastores se considera uno de los pocos asentamientos conservados de este tamaño en Europa. Es reconocible por su típica arquitectura, que es una especie de símbolo de Velika planina. Los techos de la casa están cubiertos con tejas de abeto típicas que llegan casi hasta el suelo. En la zona de Kamnik, la cabaña del pastor se llama pastirska bajta o pastirski stan, mientras que las tejas de abeto se llaman «šinkel». En cualquier caso, el asentamiento cobra vida especialmente en junio, cuando las cabañas se llenan de pastores, quienes permanecen realizando el pastoreo con su ganado hasta septiembre.

Onvergetelijke plek. De tocht in de kabelbaan en de stoeltjeslift is prachtig. Bovenop de berg is een vestje aan te raden, daarna heerlijk wandelen tussen de koeien en genieten van de sprookjesachtige omgeving. Wij zijn het stuk van de stoeltjeslift naar beneden teruggelopen, adembenemende uitzichten gegarandeerd. Net alsof je in een film zit!
