Gorgeous hostel and completely worth it to get a private room to experience the converted cells. Although Google says it's a 15 minute walk from old town, that is quite the overestimation (I found it took me more about 7 minutes) and there are plenty of other sites to see during your walk. In winter the room got a bit chilly as expected, but the common areas were lovely and heated.

Building is cool and staff is very friendly. Also clean. However the room and bathroom were very small and cramped. Also the window did not close properly so it was really cold in the room.

Leuke hostel en heel vriendelijk personeel. De gedeelde kamers zijn zeer proper en lekker warm in de winter. Schappelijke prijs ook. Alleen het ontbijt is €4/pp wat ik persoonlijk een beetje veel vind voor hetgeen je maar krijgt. Maar er is genoeg in de stad om een ontbijtje te nemen

It's a decent hostel, and the new renovations are great. All of the staff I talked to were incredibly helpful and friendly. However, the twelve bed dorm was clearly not designed to hold that many beds. The ceiling is so low that you wake up with your head 5 cm from the ceiling. Not all of the beds had individual lights and power points. The room captures a lot of noise from the hallway on that level and the level below. The lockers only fit a carry on bag, and otherwise there is no designated bag storage area in the dorm room, meaning people's bags are everywhere. Nowhere to hang wet towels either. The kitchen is TINY, only enough standing room for three people and consists of a burner, fridge, and crockery and cutlery. There is no drying rack for plates or tea towels. We could have extended our stay but chose not to. Perhaps the smaller dorms would be better designed.
