The Hostel pri Janezu is located in the center of Ljubljana, below the castle hill. With a charming and welcoming atmosphere, it is the perfect choice for visitors in need of accommodation in the city.
Location
The hostel is conveniently situated within a walking distance of 10 minutes to most of the main tourist attractions. You can easily reach the main market place, Ljubljana's castle, the Cathedral, City hall, The Three bridges, Prešeren Square, and the Congress Square on foot.
Despite its central location, the hostel provides a peaceful environment. Guests can enjoy the shade of trees in the park or relax in the sports facilities in front of the hostel.
The Story of Us
This building has a rich history. For over 100 years, it has provided a home to primary and high school students with special needs. During the summer holidays, when the students return to their families, the dormitory becomes available for visitors.
In 2014, Hostel pri Janezu was opened to the public for the first time. The hostel is not only a place to stay, but it also aims to achieve social inclusion of young people with special needs. By staying at the hostel, you will have the opportunity to meet the friendly and positive youngsters who work there as part of their summer jobs.

In den Ferien ist dieses Haus ein Hostel aber während der Schulzeit das Zuhause für Children with special needs. Die Zimmer waren einfach aber sauber, das Frühstück muss hervorgehoben werden !|Auf jedenfall sehr gern wieder !!

Lovely hostel inside a school which is empty in the summer. Very kind people, I had to leave a day earlier and had to receive a mail and this was not a problem at all! Breakfast included and multiple kitchens on all floors! Had a very pleasant stay here

Basic rooms, no air conditioning but good breakfast and clean bedding.
This was a pretty decent place to stay. It is a school throughout most of the year but this is clear on the website and is reflected in the very cheap price. The breakfast is excellent, particularly the homemade bread. Hostel is only a short walk to the town centre - perhaps 10-15 minutes?||Only complaint would be lack of air con but this was only an issue when it was unusually hot (temperatures were hitting 38C

A lot of stairs. cool they have a big breakfast included, location is ok, atmosphere was so-so not really the best, facilities look a bit off like a kindergarten.. our room had a broken window, not possible to open it, it was hot and sticky air. Baths were quite clean.
A lovely hostel situated in a safe area next to the city centre. Rooms can be from 2 up to 6 beds. Each floor has a fully furnished kitchen/ living room. A big, home made breakfast is included in the (cheap) price. During winter the hostel is actually a house for people with special needs and those who stay also during summer help to welcome tourists. The environment is really friendly: recommended||

Very cute hostel, but also busy enough to meet people. The hostel only runs in the summer as it is usually a school. Free wifi, good free breakfast and cheap. Also benefits from being in Ljubljana which is a really sweet town!

Siamo stati in questo ostello perché abbiamo fatto dei concerti a Lubiana e dintorni e il pernottamento non è stato del tutto confortevole. Le lenzuola nei letti erano stracolme di insetti morti, da brivido. I bagni non erano pulitissimi e starci dentro era un supplizio perché un odore terribile persisteva insistentemente. Non siamo riusciti a fare colazione neanche per un giorno perché erano offerti cibi tipici che non rientravano nei nostri gusti. Pensavamo di trovare almeno dei croissants ma nemmeno l'ombra. Non ci ritornerei più.

Nice clean hostel, fair price, not too far out of town, reasonable wi-fi, fully equipped kitchens and very, very nice employees!
Não tive uma boa experiencia no hostel. Staff mal educado com o grupo, wifi nao funcionava nos quartos, parecia uma escola improvisada como hostel. Muito ruim mesmo. Os quartos eram pequenos, porém aconchegantes. Não vale o baixo preço dele.
