Where to start! Not only is this hostel right underneath the train tracks so you can hear every single announcement made like it’s being made 5 feet away from you and trains overhead make the place shake, the receptionist is by far and wide the creepiest woman I’ve ever had the displeasure of meeting, from using google translate to tell us when we arrived she had been ‘waiting for us’ and ‘does he know we are here?’, she couldn’t speak any English which made check in very difficult. To her unannounced entering the room where the beds are (which is a room where maximum 20 people can sleep!!) and skulking round in the early hours of the morning!! Also, while undertaking the very occasional once over of cleaning (and by that I mean she probably sprayed febreeze in the air), this lady would be screaming down the phone at someone (honestly couldn’t make this up). However the story goes on and on our second night in the reception area (right next to the room), we heard her arguing in person with a man, both shouting at each other (now I’m partial to a bit of drama as much as the next person, but when it’s late at night and I’m supposed to be staying in an established hostel, it seems a little excessive and distasteful as the so-called employee). Once the manager returned, he came in to the room to tell us this lady would be fired as he couldn’t trust her, however, he would not do this for ‘2 days’ so we had to continue to be around this strange lady. Furthermore, as if this experience couldn’t get much worse, the entire place is ridden with bed bugs!! After finding a bed bug on our second night, we promptly told the manager and he told us he would move our beds, but that he was also aware of this and had allowed us to book the hostel knowing this was a present issue!!! Reluctantly, we had to stay the night due to being unable to find another solution, and having seen only one bug we figured we might just have to brave it for the night. That night, just as I was about to go to sleep I noticed several bed bugs scaling the walls of the capsule (which is insanely small by the way, so anyone with claustrophobia who would still be considering this hostel to this point of the review, steer clear it’s like sleeping in a coffin). Unable to sleep in such disgusting and neglectful conditions, the only temporary solution was for us to sleep on the wooden benches in the reception area which provided me with lovely back pain for the next day!! After all of this, we contacted the manager in the morning and told him the harrowing story of our night, with pictures attached, to which we were left without reply, which seems to be a common occurrence after reading just a handful of other reviews. So, if you like sleeping in a coffin-like, bed bug ridden bed under the train tracks, with unannounced visits from a very creepy lady in the early morning and a crappy hostel manager who knowingly allows people to stay in such dreadful conditions, this is your place! Alternatively, if you are a normal member of society looking for a decent night sleep, steer clear at any cost, you’d sooner have a better night sleep and more pleasant experience in a maximum security prison.

Ljubljana is very expensive, especially accommodation. When a small country and city is so expensive, tourists are unfortunately ripped off. The hostels here are like that. The hostel is small but clean. It should be cheaper and the internet should work.

DON'T COME HERE ! Some lockers doesn't close, there are BED BUGS. Very noisy, poorly ventilated. Not worth it. Owner isn't helpfull.

Не рекомендую данный хостел, очень маленькое помещение где находится кровати, без вентиляции и окон. Постели не меняются, грязное постельное белье с КЛОПАМИ, за 1 ночь я была вся искусана ими. Оплату за хостел сняли два раза. Ванная комната очень плохо пахнет.

Due stelle solo per il prezzo e la posizione (che ha comunque i suoi contro). L’ostello è situato letteralmente dentro/sotto la stazione. Molto comodo per chi viaggia in treno ma allo stesso tempo molto rumoroso. C’è un’unica stanza che contiene 18 letti (alcuni matrimoniali) quindi potreste ritrovarvi a dormire con altre 20/25 persone nella stessa stanza senza alcuna finestra. La “zona comune” è l’ingresso in cui ci sono dei tavoli, un frigo e alcuni utensili. Manca il lavandino quindi per lavare le stoviglie bisognerà usare quello del bagno (se gli ospiti sono incivili potreste trovare pezzi di cibo nel lavandino in cui vi state lavando come è successo a noi). Il bagno sarebbe da pulire più frequentemente dato che ci sono solo due docce, due wc e due lavandini. Receptionist simpatico

NO DORMIR AQUÍ! Es un trastero debajo del tren sin ventanas ni ventilacion! Solo llegar, el dueño del local nos habló mal porque al su parecer haviamos llegado tarde. El dueño estava en la mesa de la entrada mirando el futbol con sus amigos ( 6 o 7 personas que no se alojaban ahi ) como si fuera un bar, mientras habia gente durmiendo dentro. Una falta de respeto bastante grande. El baño entero estaba vomitado, el lavadero, el baño y el suelo.. y la ducha destrozada. Hacia muy mala olor. Esto pasava mientras el estava viendo el futbol. La unica habitación que hay, que es de 30 personas, ni una ventana, 0 ventilacion, en pleno invierno, muriendonos de calor y sin poder respirar, en un lugar claustrofobico i con mucha mala olor. Dudo que sea un negocio legal. Dicen de no conectar el USB porque esta conectado a un ordenador. Al despertarnos por la mañana el dueño estava en el banco de la entrada tumbado, hacia muy mala cara y no se levanto ni para despedirnos. Demasiado caro.

The staff that greeted us at the door didn't speak a word of English so exchanging information with him was difficult. There were around 10 others in the dorm with us. The bed had a lockable curtain for security which was nice and a light above the bed. The toilets and showers were nice and clean. The main issue was that the room was like a microwave and we couldn't sleep because we were sweating the whole night, and even with the curtain open it wasn't much better. Also found it overpriced compared to other hostels in the area.

Es un local debajo de la estación de tren. Única habitación con más de 20 camas SIN VENTILACIÓN. Tiene sólo 2 duchas y 2 aseos. Una entrada / sala con 2 sillas y 2 mesas. Aire acondicionado no suficiente. 😔

Nice place and very convenient to the bus and train stations. You are able to close and even lock the curtain around your bed for full privacy if you’d like.

I’ve never felt claustrophobia before until we stayed 2 days in this place. Too tiny, no windows anywhere, we tried to cancel our 3rd night, he gave us back half the price of the night and he took the taxes?? Worst experience in the whole trip, sorry but not recommended for what it costs.

— location it’s good if you want to be near the train station but if you can look for a better place to stay please do it !! — Hard to breath fresh air — Only one air conditioner in the only room with this many beds, many smells — Cranky and Rude old men who is not so friendly is his job position he is in the overnight shift who doesn’t speak English only Slovenian ( you don’t know if is swearing at you because it’s very cranky ) he always turn off the air conditioner the only fresh air in that room ( again there’s no windows, you tend to sweat) — tiny bed but comfy at least

kleines hostel im ljubljana hauptbahnhof; wir waren eine nacht dort und dafür war es perfekt. die stimmung war angenehm, die räume und sanitäranlagen sauber und das personal war super hilfsbereit. in der nacht ist der große schlafraum ziemlich stickig gewesen, aber wenn die klimaanlage läuft geht es voll.

Klimaanlage als einzige Frischluftzufuhr finde ich grenzwertig. Viele Menschen im selben Raum brauchen viel Sauerstoff und verursachen Geruch, wofür eine kleine Klimaanlage leider nicht reicht. Betten sind aufgeteilt wie ein Hasenstall. Der zweite Stern kommt für die Lage. Wenn man spontan ankommt/abreist, ist man direkt bei den Gleisen, was praktisch sein kann, ansonsten gibt es bessere Unterkünfte in der selben Preisklasse.

Ein Hostelangestellter ist unfreundlich und kann kein Englisch. Es stinkt in allen Räumen und hat auch keine Fenster. Im Schlafsaal hat es ca. Platz für 30 Personen. In der Nacht wird es relativ warm. Es hat ein mittelgrosses Schliessfach, keine Küche nur Mikrowelle.

if youre looking for something clean and private yet cheap this is your place. even though it is pretty small it manages to fit everything you will need. the receptionist is really polite, the bathroom is clean, there is enough space for your luggage. keep in mind the “kitchen” doesnt have an oven or a hot plate.

Le foto non rendono molto...avevo prenotato su booking alla cieca perché dalle foto sembrava un posto per lo meno fattibile per dormirci...in realtà è situato tra i binari dei treni della stazione di Lubiana, nel sottopassaggio...quindi sottoterra e con sopra interni che ti passano in testa. All'ingresso si viene accolti da un signore molto folkloristico in canottiera bianca, forse non comoda, perché continuava ad alzarsela ( panzonissimo) 😅|La nota positiva è che non ti fanno entrare con le scarpe per motivi di igiene.|Quella negativa è che in un'unica stanza, sprovvista di finestre ovviamente, sono stipati qualcosa tipo 14 letti, sei dei quali matrimoniali... potenzialmente la camera può ospitare una ventina di persone in altrettanti mq 😅|Ho deciso di non soggiornare.|Ah, il parcheggio è quello a pagamento della stazione...quel giorno lì c'era addirittura una ragazza zelante che si accertava che tutte le macchine fossero chiuse davvero a chiave...motivo per portare via anche la macchina, prima che ci pensi qualcunaltro 😅🙈
