Loved this place. Helpful, friendly, very clean, everything worked. When I arrived the receptionist gave me a map and talked through lots of recommendations with helpful tips on how much things should cost . My only wish is that the kitchen didn't have to close at 22:00, not because I want to cook after 10pm but because the common room is part of the same space. It's quite warm at night (early September), our 4-bed room came with a large opening window and two fans which was enough but in mid-summer I'd be tempted to spend more and get a hostel with air-con.

Nice hostel in an easy enough location. Major highlight was the incredible detailed recommendations. If you just do what is suggested on the map you will have an incredible visit. The rooms were super hot even with fans but that’s the time of the year! Not a super social hostel but if you get there at the right time or have nice roommates it’s then easy to have a great time. Well equipped kitchen if you’re cooking but there’s also pretty cheap food around if you need it!

Let's start with the positives; location, location, location! Now, for the downsides; the hostess is nuts, sneaks around keeping an eye on things in a creepy fashion. The place stinks of chorine but mould is rampant on the second floor. The kitchen is cramped and the oven doesn't work. The place is pretty dirty and the bannister is hanging loose from the wall. Very expensive considering the poor state of repair. Stay at hostel Celina if you can, 100 times better! I was travelling with my wife plus 2 children, 11 & 13 years of age. I made my dissatisfaction known to Aleks, the owner but she didn't care.

Great location and very clean rooms and common spaces. The kitchen was a great place to meet fellow travelers, and it's a short walk to the main touristy area of town. They were very helpful and accommodating with luggage storage. Would stay here again.

The hostel is close to the centre, but also close to some noisy pubs. The caretaker, Alexandra is rude, not suitbale for working with people. Her attitude towards my students reminded me of a wicked witch or rather a dragon.

On arrival I heard the host delivering a guide-worthy pitch of things to visit in Ljubljana and surroundings to a couple of guests, with do's and dont's. You see she loves what she does... Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Clean rooms and sanitary. Nice shared kitchen facility. Very satisfied. Only remark: website needs update about (since recently? no longer) special prices at nearby Inn Gostilna Pod vrbo.

I enjoyed by time in Slovenia and spent 3 nights at this hostel. I originally booked at AdHoc but they had a bed bug infestation so all their bookings were transferred to different hostels. Upon arrival we were greeted by Alex, they were really helpful and friendly and the highlight of the hostel. But the cleanliness was an issue, it was very unclean likely due to the small amount of bathrooms to the amount of people. Kitchen facilities are basic, oven doesn't work. Rooms very warm. Obviously it's a cheap hostel we expected those things and perhaps we got a bad time or whatever. But the main issues were external. The bars across the river are really loud into the early hours of the morning and to stall cool the windows needed to be open, even when closed it was super loud. Then from very early (about 6am) church bells sound for long periods at quite random and frequent times. It meant I was really unable to sleep well throughout the night. Others we met had the same issue.

Very friendly hostel. Very knowledgable & welcoming staff. Good location. Ljubljana very easy to move around on foot. Good bathroom & shower - hot water. Staff happy with early check out. Nice beds in dorm, clean linen, with lamp & charging plug per bed. Very good. Would return.

We experienced real hospitality here from Aleks, the incredible lady who runs the hostel. She gave us great recommendations during a friendly and entertaining check-in, which cheered us all up immediately after a long rainy day. She was the true heart and soul of the hostel, and took care of everyone so kindly, from making jokes out of everything, to finding a way to blend spices for us when we were struggling to cook an elaborate meal! The dorm beds are very comfortable, and the rooms are spacious. We were given a padlock for our locker at check-in, and a towel. The bathrooms are clean and private, and the kitchen is large and well-equipped. Laundry is available, and Aleks was even able to dry our non dryer-suitable clothes separately for us! The location was ideal, it was close to the river in the centre of Ljubljana, but on a quiet street, and close to a supermarket and cash machine. We had a wonderful stay in Hostel Vrba, and we hope to visit again as soon as we get the chance! Recommend 100%!

El Hostel está muy bien, no tiene tantas habitaciones así que es tranquilo, las camas son muy cómodas, la cocina es grande y equipada, está limpio e incluye toallas. La ubicación es justo donde termina el centro peatonal así que es cercano y tranquilo. Pasamos una buena semana. Lo mejor de todo fue Aleks, nos dió muchos tips sobre qué hacer en la ciudad, comida típica, traslado, realmente hizo que tuviéramos una gran estadía en Ljubliana, conociéramos muchos lugares y ahorremos mucho dinero en traslados y excursiones innecesarias. Se tomó la molestia de buscarnos horarios de atracciones y traslados, realmente muy agradecidos

Absolute best Hostel I've stayed in. Very clean and nice facilities. Our hostel receptionist/possible owner, Alex, was the absolute friendliest and most helpful person. She went out of her way to explain to us what to do in Slovenia and how to save money. A gem of a person and a gem of a place. A must stay!

Das Hostel hat eine relativ gute Lage und man ist schnell zu Fuß in der Stadtmitte. Meine restlichen Erfahrungen mit dieser Einrichtung waren sehr negativ. Wir haben nicht das erhalten, was wir zuvor online gebucht haben (Downgrade) und mussten trotzdem den vollen Preis zahlen. Außerdem war die Besitzerin unfreundlich und kontrollierte jede Handlung.

Great place to stay in Ljubljana, the location is excellent, close to the old town, supermarket and bakery. The bedrooms and bathrooms are adequate and clean, the kitchen is well equipped (but I missed a toaster). Aleks, who takes care of everything, is very friendly and helpful.
