Situé dans la plus ancienne maison de Ljubjana, au pied de la colline du château et à deux pas du centre-ville historique, l’hôtel est magnifiquement rénové dans une ambiance très épurée. Notre chambre donnait sur la cour intérieure, elle était vaste, belle salle de bains, excellente literie. Le petit déjeuner change tous les jours, il est préparé par une cheffe qui utilise de savoureux produits frais. Un des plus beaux hôtels que nous ayons vu !

Great boutique hotel to complement a quick weekend in Ljubliana. The location is pretty ideal — you’re still among the charm of the old town, but not in the middle of it. We found a relaxed cafe/bar right up the street and a quiet path up to the castle. Room was excellent! You can experience the history of the building with the exposed wood beams and layers of brick on the wall. But at the same time it’s modern enough with the finishes and touches that make it feel quietly luxurious. Personally I like that they use “real materials” in the architecture and design, so if you don’t like fake wood tiles or plastic everywhere, this is your place to stay. There’s a nice courtyard with a few tables, and airy common spaces that welcome you in after a trip around the city. Staff was really nice and you can tell they really put in the effort.

We spent 2 nights at the hotel and had a great experience. The hotel is really comfortable and beautifully designed, minimalist but not impersonal, full of character. We loved the delicious and locally sourced breakfast prepared by a chef, the personal was so kind and helpful, we wish we could have stayed longer.

Tina and her team are absolutely amazing! This hotel is definetly the place to be in Ljiulbljana. We spent there 2 nights and it was the best decision. The breakfast is a blast; healthy but suuuuper tasty and home-made. It couldn’t be better. You’ll find beautiful details in everything, and Tina came every morning to ask for our experience in her city and hotel. I will recommend to everybody I know going to Liulbliana to stay at April1550, for sure. It is a luxury boutique hotel since the space, services and attention are impeccable. So happy to have discovered this precious hotel, it’s been a pleasure!!! Thank you for everything super team!!

What an amazing experience !! From the moment you walk in you are greeted by such lovely staff who are so helpful all the time! The breakfast was out of this world I would not think about staying anywhere else Thank you Natasha for such a beautiful place :)

I almost didn't write this review, mostly because I am a greedy, selfish person who wants this hotel entirely for myself and myself alone (I really could have eaten the entire apricot tart they had at breakfast), but I would be remiss, perhaps even outright silly, to not give April1550 the metric heaps of praise it deserves. Natasha and her team have truly created something that transcends its function. Sure, it is a charming and perfectly modest hotel, but it is also a confident statement on design as historical continuity (the hotel was built in 1550 and not only retains the character of all that came before it, but adds to it), as well as a loving synthesis of all the good that Ljubljana has to offer (their house-made breakfast features all locally sourced products including coffee beans from around the city). As if trying to not make other hotels feel bad, April1550 is quietly tucked away from the main drag, sitting happily beneath Ljublanski grad with direct access to just about everything you could want (although really, you will just want to sit in their rooms all day and wish it were your house). On our way out, we ran into Natasha biking to work (a notable scene when you come from the concrete wasteland that is suburban America), who told us to come back soon, and of all the times I have been told to do so, this one I will be sure of.

My wife and I spent 3 nights at this boutique hotel centrally located in the old town of Ljubljana in August 2024. We would highly recommend staying at the April1550. The rooms are modern but with a nod to the history of the building. The attention to detail in the design and service is impressive. Breakfast is gourmet. We looked forward to the chef's special creations each morning. The coffee, cappuccinos, and cocktails were also very good! Natasha, the owner, and her entire staff were incredible. We hope to visit again on our journey back to the region.

Charming boutique hotel in a great location. All the sights and restaurants and bars and within a 5-15 minute walk but also close to a taxi drop off when coming from the airport so you aren’t carrying bags. |Staff were truly exceptional and went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. Rooms were spotless and my bed was so comfy! The complimentary sustainable slippers are a nice touch. |Breakfast was divine - all fresh and local ingredients and delicious.|Highly recommend and will be sending everyone I know who is planning a trip their way!

I am absolutely obsessed with this hotel. Boutique Hotel design and amenities with an intimate B&B feel that makes this stay so special. Natasha and her staff are an absolute delight and incredibly kind. The breakfast they serve daily was in fact my favorite meal during my time in Ljubljana, with everything prepared to perfection. This hotel is also located right on the perfect edge of Old Town where it’s quiet but easily accessible to everything. If you stay in Ljubljana - especially as a solo traveler - you must stay here!

Wow! This hotel was truly a FANTASTIC stay and I cannot wait to go back. Natasa and all the staff were the most thoughtful and kind people. Every little detail was thought about including handmade pottery for the hotel, a pillow menu, slippers to take home with you, etc. The breakfast was by far my favorite with local honey, cheeses, pastries and tarts. Probably my favorite hotel breakfast i've ever had. The outdoor back patio is so idyllic and lovely to work. Overall a 12/10 stay and I would recommend it to everyone going to Ljubljana!

Stayed for 2 days in July 2024. One of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at - a small boutique with a really personal feel. The breakfast/coffees were exceptional and Natasa/Tina were so friendly and interesting to chat to. We had the studio which was fully equipped with kitchen/coffee machine, with lots of touches like radio/yoga mat/(a very good) book selection. It's also right on the doorstep of the old town but not noisy. Will be back!

What a cute little hotel with a great design and everything so well thought through. We loved our stay! Staff was so friendly, room was so nicely done and the best part was absolutely the breakfast! The chef is a friendly lady with great talents, made our stay wonderful. We certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who is thinking to visit Ljubjiana.

Όλα ήταν άψογα!Η φιλοξενία, η ευγένεια και το χαμόγελο όλου του προσωπικού, μας έκαναν να αισθανθούμε σαν το σπίτι μας. Το δωμάτιο μας πολύ όμορφα διακοσμημένο και πολύ καθαρό.Το ξενοδοχείο είναι στο πιο κατάλληλο σημείο της πανέμορφης Λιουμπλιάνα.Αγαπήσαμε την χώρα και τους ανθρώπους της!! Σίγουρα θα τα ξαναπούμε!!

We had a fantastic time here. Attention to detail amazing. Breakfast was amazing. Room was a delight. Centrally located. Ljubljana is very walkable. 25/30 minutes from the airport by taxi. ||We stayed for a “memorable” birthday and are so glad we booked. Easy walking distance to train and bus station. After recommendations from Tina, we visited a couple of quaint villages just about 30/40 minutes away. ||Would recommend. I can not say enough good things about this hotel. It’s a coffee, food, and book lovers paradise. It is luxurious but also so comfortable. It feels like you’re staying in your own apartment, so cozy, and is immaculately clean with very comfortable beds and rooms. There are bookshelves everywhere, the coffee is incredible, and it’s the best breakfast I’ve ever had. It’s located conveniently close to everything, but also on a quiet street away from loud tourists. The staff are the nicest group of women who pay attention to every detail to make sure your stay is perfect. They gave the best recommendations on restaurants. As a single female traveler I felt so safe here and enjoyed my stay immensely. I will come back to Ljubljana for this hotel alone. Thank you Natasha, Tina, Emma, and Alinka 🧑🍳 👑

This hotel exceeded every expectation. It is in the top of all hotels we’ve stayed in - ever! Why? It’s beautiful, every detail is thought of from slippers to hooks in the bathroom to cookies and water to welcome you. The staff goes above and beyond to help with any need. We arrived mid afternoon and Tina was able to find an amazing restaurant reservation for 6 people that very evening! The restaurant, Greg, was awesome! She also arranged our taxi when time to leave and gave us an awesome breakfast to take on a morning we left early for our adventures that day. I loved all the books everywhere and we enjoyed our conversation with the owner. Highly recommended! This is what all hotels/b&b’s should aspire to! ❤️❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏

This boutique hotel is amazing. So tastefully decorated & furnished, keeping the character of such an old building in such a stylish way. The host Natasa is a warm, kind, friendly and super efficient lady and her team are superb, too. The room we had was beautiful, lovely touches - they'd thought of everything and it was like having our own apartment - it was large, spacious and peaceful. The breakfast is the tastiest, and healthiest and the most beautifully presented we have ever had when travelling around Europe. We were sorry to leave! Natasa even arranged a breakfast for us to take away on our early departure, which was so beautifully wrapped and made with love and care, we couldn't believe it when we opened it, was so nice. :)||Thankyou once again to everyone at April 1550 - we will recommend to anyone we know who would like to visit Ljubljana and if we can come back soon, we most definitely will!!! The worst part about this place was that it’s such an incredible cozy slice of heaven that you don’t even want to LEAVE to go explore Ljubliana— you just want to stay and live in this hotel forever. We stayed in Room 8, a 2-bedroom studio with a rooftop and has the most dreamy experience of our lives. I cannot more highly recommend it (although I don’t want to, because I want it to be available when we book to come here next year!!!). Every space and room is perfectly designed, and the owner Natasa has thought of every single thing. We fell in love with the hotel and (because of their recommendations), the city. See you again soon, April1550.
