Buen hotel. El mismo grupo opera 3 hoteles en la misma zona. Aglutinaron por el Covid en 2 hoteles. En nuestro caso Grand Hotel Union. Habitación grande, con vistas al Castillo de Liujibliana. Buenas instalaciones. Piscina climatizada. Parking incluido, aunque cuenta con 3 plantas se suele llenar después del mediodía. Por lo que condiciona las visitas a ciudades como Celje, Bled, aunque en una mañana es suficiente para visitarlas. La ubicación es súper céntrica.

If standing in line is your hobby, this hotel is the one for you. After our original hotel, Hotel Lev, was closed we were transferred to the uHotel, a hotel from the same mother company. I believe more hotel guests from different hotels were transferred here. We didn’t get a heads-up before hand so we first drove to hotel Lev, in the pouring rain. Even tough they knew that it would be crowded, only two receptionists were on call at the uHotel and we stood in line for half an hour to check-in. Then four hours later, we stood in line again for half an hour to pick up our key. Because our hotel room phone wasn’t working we had to go down to the reception for every little inconvenience (room service that wasn’t available, or making a reservation for the pool) to stand in line. Then every morning we stood in line for a breakfast table. The parking garage was way too small for all the guests, so double parking was the only option. And the parking spots were already really cramped. You pay 20,- per day for this practice. Hotel Lev, the hotel we originally booked is a fresh looking place. UHotel is a more classic hotel, which is fine, but only we were muffled away in a ugly, concrete, 80’s side part of the hotel. The rooms were dated but clean and spacious. (You know the beige walls and the wooden carpeting that is the classic hotel look for a good couple of years back). The room was also really dark and the view was hideous. Looking on top of other ugly concrete buildings. The first day the breakfast choice was really good and all the food tasted good and fresh. But it was also very crowded an chaotic. No measures in walking paths were taken, so everybody was walking crisscross. (In times of Covid-19) The breakfast room is a beautiful, spacious and light place. But once again, we were muffled away in a dated part of the hotel, that looked most like a small scouting camp dining room. The second day it was even more crowded and a lot of options were already gone. They were filled back up but it took pretty long. While other, not as popular, options were not checked in freshness and tasted sour or mushy. UHotel is a four star hotel. And this is because of it’s many facilities. But we couldn’t use them. You had to make a reservation for the pool, but it was always fully booked. This is of course due to the crowdedness of the hotel, but also because the pool opened at 4 P.M! (16.00) So if you wanted to swim, there was only a small time frame in which you could. Same thing for the sauna. The roomservice was also cancelled due to corona. All the food services were cancelled for that matter. The facilities were good but it was just too crowded and chaotic. The staff was somewhat friendly but also stressed and did nothing with our feedback. (Like fix our hotel room phone, which I suspect has never worked)

Pros: - great location close to everything - great Breakfast choices - parking garage Cons: - Rooms look a little worn down, TV was not working, neither the Fan in the bathroom Corona restrictions are a joke at the breakfast. People are piling up and bumping into each other. This was not a pleasent experience. We have been booking another hotel and got booked into this one by uHotel because the other one was closed due to low demand. Seeing them sth like this is really a sign of bad management

Air conditioning was not able to handle the 31 degrees temperature in the city. The lift installation was not working well, resulting in a lot of waiting time. On the plus; location is top

We got a free night here because our hostel was closed. Very clean, one minute from the river and very comfy.

Very good place and location. The hotel allows pets,it was very important to me. Since COVID situation all the hotel has disinfectors on all floors. Free disposable gloves at the restaurant. They were all masked. Free masks and disinfectants were waiting for us in the room. I was satisfied.

Best location next to the city center with parking. Very nice breakfast. Rooms are a bit old fashioned and some pieces need renovation (bed was kinda broken, made lot of noise! - we should habe checked beforehand ...) therefore -1 star

The Union hotel is adjacent to the pedestrian zone and only 250 m from numerous nice places to have a nice beer, wine or icecream. The hotel is very strict with hand desinfection and facial masks. Parking garage beneath.

Location in the center is great, parking available (limited and challenging), room equipment is a bit outdated, breakfast variety and quality slightly below standard, the wellness area on the top floor and the attentive room service was a great plus. You habe to consider that the rooms with castle view come with an annoying, permanent noise of the A/C from an adjacent building ant the hotel’s windows are not sound-proof (as of 2020).
