This is a decent, clean hotel centrally located in Metlika. I think it's only one of two hotels in this small town. They have a decent restaurant and all the locals go there regularly which is always a good sign. The rooms are nice, clean and well priced so it makes for a good home base if you are seeing other areas. Ljubljana is about a one hour drive and you could go into Croatia and be in Karlovac in 40 minutes or Zagreb in about 90 minutes. There is a great little place for gelato across the street and about 100 yards towards the school or uphill rather than downhill. Also, if you enjoy lamb and pig done on an open spit, there is a restaurant nearby called Gera but it's closed on Mondays.

Check in went smoothly and we took the elevator to the second floor. Livingroom was separated by a door from the bedroom. Bathroom was clean and moderately sized. Breakfast was okay. I had the feeling there was a large group in before us because there were uncleared tables and the waitress just came up to us and said what do you want. No menu, no choices given beforehand. You tell her what you want and she goes in the kitchen and gets it for you. A little odd.

Good hotel. Simple but enough. Staff was very friendly. Beds okay and locaties ok. I just stayed there for one night because i was passing through. So dont know more about the location. The breakfast was good. Enough choice and friendly Staff asking what you want eggs etc.

Ho potuto soggiornare e cenare qui , le camere sono nella media , non di lusso ma pulite e accettabili . Il personale mi è sembrato molto cordiale , e il menù è in italiano . Io ho mangiato bene , poi dipende sempre dai gusti di una persona . Da tornarci sicuramente....

I'm now the 4th time back to Metlika. Hotel is in a small town but you can really accept all the circumstances. it is really clean and bed's are OK. I got a dinner also here and I found it reasonable not to price. I like the red wine so I asked for the local number one. Let say :-) it was local...

As a countryside hotel, I think it is an excellent hotel. I don't have much experience with three star hotels, but I am sure this hotel is much better than many three star hotels in Rome or Paris. We stayed in room no. 214 which might be the best and largest room in the hotel. There were two rooms and enough space. For two adults there were too many chairs but better than not enough as it is usually in many even higher class hotels. Everything was very clean what is a trademark of most Slovene hotels. Because of small windows and beautiful flowers on the windows ( a nice tradition in Slovenia) the rooms were a little dark. The air condition was working well and the only thing that we missed very much was a mini bar. Breakfast is simple but fresh.The best in this hotel are bathrooms and very kind and hospitable staff.

La struttura é moderna,pulita e ben curata.Le camere sono confortevoli e ben arredate.Siamo stati accolti all'arrivo dal giovane receptionist che ,grazie al suo ottimo inglese,si e' dimostrato disponibile ad aiutarci in ogni esigenza e necessita'e ci ha fornito consigli e suggerimenti utilissimi per le escursioni nel territorio.Il cibo ottimo,sia quello tipico sloveno che quello piu' internazionale.La colazione imperdibile!L'hotel si trova in una regione assai pittoresca ed affascinante ma poco frequentata da turisti in cerca di mete conosciute.Un angolo di pace,semplicita' ed armonia per chi e ' in cerca di natura e relax .Lo consiglio assolutamente!

We booked this hotel 9 months in advance for a group of 10. The hotel staff greeted us with wonderful hospitality including traditional bread. The rooms were simple, spotless and clean. Breakfast was ample, including rich coffee. So, why the two stars? The wedding party in the bar-restaurant that went all night. Even two floors above we were "entertained" with live band until exactly 5:09 am. Few slept through the heavy bass beat. A warning or at least ear plugs would have made this an acceptable hotel experience.

Отличный отель для маленького городка. Номер, обслуживание, расположение, завтраки - все удобно, дружелюбно и на уровне. Останавливалась там 2 раза и в следующий раз тоже буду останавливаться именно там.

Интересное сочетание, с одной стороны посуда в этом маленьком отеле - villeroy&boch, с другой горячей воды на всех хватает не всегда. Прокисшее разливное пиво и шикарные завтраки. Если по делам в этих краях, остановиться можно, если с семьей, есть места и поинтересней.
