Firstly, the hotel is in a fantastic part of the Kanjska Gora valley. Reception staff were very friendly throughout. The room was quite large with twin beds, complimentary slippers and robes, bathroom with shower, toilet and bidet and toiletries. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. Balcony with table and 2 chairs. Having said all that, the hotel needs a bit of TLC. The balcony rail needs renovating, there was a smell as you entered the room, the night security lock on the door was broken. The radiator is behind the floor to ceiling curtain??? Let’s talk about the food. Yes there is plenty of choice including vegetarian and vegan. However, you need to be one of the first in because it is buffet style for both breakfast and dinner. The fried eggs soon get congealed, bacon cool and crispy. I just had cereal and pancakes for breakfast and mainly fish and potatoes for dinner. That was my choice, other reviewers praise the food. On waking up, I usually enjoy a cup of tea but, unfortunately, the room does not have a kettle and associated tea/coffee etc. overall though, and enjoyable stay.

Wir waren im September 24 für eine Woche hier und haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt: Deutschsprachige Rezeption, deutschsprachiger Service im Restaurant, sehr reichhaltiges Frühstück und das Abendbuffet war auch immer reichhaltig und ausreichend. Die Gegend ist zum Wandern, zum Radfahren und zum Motorradfahren geeignet. Für Geschichtsinteressierte sind die Berge und Orte, in der Umgebung, voll mit Spuren des 1. WK.

We will come here again next time! Everything was perfect, air conditioning can be missing in summer. Apart from that, we were satisfied with everything. The staff is nice, the breakfast is perfect, the hotel is clean! Using the wellness department is a pleasure!

Very nice large hotel in the heart of the Julian Alps. Hiking and biking in the summer and a large number of ski runs in winter. Rooms are reasonably large and clean. Very extensive breakfast buffet included in room price. A good choice in Kranjska Gorae.

Hotel Kompas in Kranjska Gora provides a decent stay with comfortable rooms and nice mountain views. The amenities, including the wellness center and indoor pool, are good, though some areas could use a bit of updating. The location is excellent for outdoor activities, and the staff is generally helpful. The breakfast is fine, but not exceptional. Overall, it's a solid choice for a pleasant stay, though there's room for improvement in certain aspects.

We booked a double room but ended up checking out early after 1 night because we were immensely disappointed with the experience. The receptionist provided us the contact info for the reservations team who we reached out to, but unfortunately they could not offer any refunds for the additional 2 nights we booked.||Asides from the aged furnishings and old amenities, we were quite upset with a number of concerns related to hotel’s dirtiness that negatively affected our stay:||1) There was a sewage smell coming from our room’s bathroom toilet and the corners of shower glass were moldy - we ended up going down to use the main lobby washroom because that was cleaner.||2) Dried blood stains on the window curtains - we could not even open them to get some natural light in the room without touching it.||3) Flies all over the breakfast buffet made us feel very uncomfortable eating any of the food - even though breakfast is included, the poor hygiene and unsafe food practices deterred us from even trying it.||Ultimately, the hotel was far below our expectations and the poor quality and uncleanliness led us to check out early and find last-minute accommodations elsewhere. Would not recommend staying at this hotel.

Brutta esperienza, albergo molto datato, le foto facevano intendere altro...bagno con piastrelle rotte,dispenser doccia vuoti e puzza di fogna,moquette anni 70 frigo bar vuotissimo neanche una bottiglietta d'acqua che mi sembrerebbe il minimo indispensabile,accappatoio avvolto in un celopan con etichetta 5 euro(assurdo)sauna a disposizione solo il sabato e domenica e a pagamento salatissimo,inoltre gli asciugamani per la piscina sono a pagamento e non si possono tenere per il giorno seguente. Per essere un hotel a 4 stelle(per niente meritate)direi che non ci siamo proprio,unica cosa positiva il materasso comodo, per il resto non lo consiglio.

Eastern Europeans have heard and experienced a lot of unkindness, but this hotel was impressive because both the front desk staff and the restaurant staff were very friendly. Other than no Wi-Fi and no air conditioning when I entered the room, the surroundings were very quiet and nice to travel around. If you're near Bled Castle, it's a very good hotel to consider.

Das Hotel liegt in einer schönen Gegend . Die meisten Mitarbeiter waren freundlich und professionell. Das Zimmer mit Balkon war sauber und das Bett bequem .Unser Hund wurde freundlich aufgenommen und bekam gleich Wasser .Das Schwimmbad mit Liegestühlen draussen super .Highlight war der Whirlpool .Nach der langen Reise wunderbar . Uns hat beiden das Essen nicht geschmeckt , weder das Abendbuffet noch das Frühstück. Deshalb 2 Sterne Abzug .Bei einem 4 Sterne Hotel erwarte ich eine viel bessere Küche .

We stayed at the Hotel for two weeks via a travel company. There are good and not so good point about the Hotel. The beds were very comfortable, the room we were in was quite roomy and the balcony a good size for sitting outside. The shower was also good although the temperature fluctuated slightly from scalding for a few seconds to cold and then back to normal; probably because other guests were using the showers at the same time. Once you got used to that it was fine! Another good point was the food, we stayed half board. The breakfast selection was very impressive though we didn't really partake in anything other than muesli (which we were able to enhance with all the extra seeds, nuts and dried fruits). The breakfast really did cater for all tastes. Dinner was also a buffet which offered a good selection of fare, on most nights there was a choice for vegetarians. I'm not wholly vegetarian but don't tend to eat meat and there were a couple of nights I could just choose salad. Every night over our two weeks offered something different too so the variety on offer is good. The hotel don't provide free table water you need to buy water if that's your drink of choice with your meal.||On the slightly more negative side I would agree with other reviews that the Hotel is dated and needs some TLC. The shower enclosure was a bit grimy, the light fitting by the bed a bit temperamental and the furniture needs replaced. The lack of air conditioning also made for sleepness nights, we slept with the door open but that encouraged ants and also there was a lot of noise from outside which in the main came from the building we were overlooking (which we assumed were staff quarters). There was also building work going on close by which meant there was very little peace during the day, not a significant problem for us as we were out most of the day. The Hotel also accepts dogs, not an issue for us but some of these dogs were left in rooms and we were disturbed by a lot of barking. The sound proofing between rooms is also not great! Lastly there is no hospitality tray in the room so you're not able to make your own tea. There is a small fridge, which we used but it needed a clean.

Für eine Nacht dort - absolut in Ordnung. Großes Zimmer. Pool-Nutzung und Frühstück (sehr große Auswahl) im Preis mit inbegriffen. Etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Vorallem das Bad. Leider keine Klimaanlage.
