Wedding location and accommodations for my daughter, her husband, our family and friends. An amazing location and the owners are fantastic at everything you want to make it a special event for everyone attending. Truly more than 5 stars! Food, service, ambiance is the best!

Very disappointed i sugest to stay as far away as possible and the owners will probably be happy that you do. Leading up to it there are many signs saying that they offer food, beverages and a place to sleep but when we got there the lady looked at us very annoyed and asked what we were doing there. When we said we just want something to drink she was annoyed but said okay but only because they don't have any guest sleeping there right now meaning all those signs were misleading. The whole time we were there the staff looked very annoyed, they gave us no receipt and didn't have change to give back. If i could give a 0 star review this place would be the one to get it.

Nature and property are indisputably magical and among the most beautiful places you can visit in Slovenia. Mitja and Joži are incredible hosts. They care about every detail because they love what they do and genuinely enjoy hosting people who are willing to trust them. Every meal is prepared and served by owners - delicious and honest cuisine paired with incredible award-winning wines produced by their own winery Ducalwines. I was blown away by the quality of everything we enjoyed during my recent 4-day stay at the property with my family and friends. Another thing that surprised me was the friendly and warm atmosphere created by the owners, which connected everyone staying at the property. Kekceva Domacija doesn't give you the feeling of staying in a small boutique hotel - it feels like you are a special guest in someone's private home/property who wants to be your host and introduce you to everyone in their home. The closest I experienced the same feeling was at Branson's Necker Island—a very different setting but a similar philosophy of service and hosting! We had lots of fun at Kekceva Domačija with other guests. Everyone was very open to sharing their Trenta adventures, and on the last day of our stay, we spontaneously decided to all join a hike guided by the owners to see the Soča River spring. I highly recommend Kekceva Domacija to those who want to stay a few days in Slovenia's most beautiful Alpine setting. The quality and level of service are well worth the price they charge.

Heaven on earth if you love peace, beautiful pristine nature, excellent genuine non pretentious service and a lot of LOVE. The owners, the hosts, Jozi and Mitja, they operate the Kekec Estate by themselves - so please put the other comments/reviews in this perspective - this is not a hotel - this is an estate where the owners take you in, as they would into their homes and take care of you :) My husband and I came with our kids and my mother-in law - everyone was in awe and we can not wait to get back. This is a real discovery for those who love honest service and pure nature. To put it bluntly - this might be the best place on Earth.

Naša izkušnja na tej čudoviti domačiji je bila resnično nepozabna. Lastnika sta zelo gostoljubna. Hrana je vrhunska, pripravljena iz domačih sestavin, ki jih spremljajo odlična vina iz lastnikovih štajerskih vinogradov. Vse skupaj je začinjeno z dih jemajočimi razgledi na gore in pristnim občutkom miru in narave.

Combining the comfort of a luxury hotel with the simplicity of the nature is what Kekčeva Domačija offers to its guests. Food is local and prepared with love and attention to details. Their Natural Wine is directly sourced from the owner’s property and deserve high attention. The nature around is simply breathtaking. This place is perfect to reconnect with yourself and disconnect from the city routine. Will definitely be back!

Delicious local food is served by very nice hosts. They prepared the best truth fish I had ever eaten and it was caught in the morning. The rooms are very cute and everything together looks like the peace of heaven. They serve just their guests so hikers are not welcome, so don't be misled by negative feedback from hikers who want to have a picnic on this piece of heaven 🤷🏻♂️. Mornings with views of surrounding hills are just amazing and morning walks to nearby springs and bathing in chilling water is an experience that I will never forget. Hosts are producing and serving their own organic very special vine and it is one of the best Slovenian vines. In the backyard, they even have a chilly pool and hot whirlpool.

Domacija je vec kot ocitno namenjena za privatne namene in ne obiskovalce. Da lahko privatiziras tako zadevo moras imeti dobre veze kar jih lastnika imata … Do obiskovalcev, tudi ce bi zeleli kaj popit in pojest, je predvsem zenska zeloooo neprijazna, tipu se pa vec kot ocitno vidi, da mu je nerodno pred njo kaksen odnos ima. Ce nimas najete sobe pa tako ali tako ne dobis za jest in se za pit komaj. Racuna itak ne poznajo, pa saj s takimi vezami ga ocitno niti ne potrebujejo .. zalostno, da se take stvari dopuscajo. Bodo pa ocitno dosegli kar zelijo .. gostov na koncu ne bo vec in bo vse samo za njih in veze …

My advice for daily visitors: be aware that this is a private property, the owners are lofty and eager for those who would be willing to spend more (eg take a room). But above all, they highly value their peace and that you do not disturb them. So be prepared, come with a sandwich and a drink, take a look and before get into the potential conflict with owners, leave on time. My experiance was one big dissapointment concerning the attitude of the owner on this property. Was a daily visitor, and there is no service for guest that have no room reservation. Mostly I was accompained by a feeling that you are unwelcome and a sense that it would be most appropriate to leave right away. To be clear, I understand now that this is accomodation with beds, is not a bar, much less a restaurant. If get lucky you get overpriced drink, on cash only, without a price list and invoice issued. I highly advice against to come thirsty or hungry. Guest is, according to what I was told, are meant only those which stay overnight. Manager was rude, what was really unpleasent. I very much regret that Slovenia do not present such a pearl on proper way.

The fact that there are negative reviews of this slice of heaven is wild to me. If wifi is important to you, then stay in the city. But if you want to be enveloped by stunning mountains, eat delicious, homemade food prepared by gracious hosts, drink fabulous wine, and be present in the moment in a breathtaking, dreamy place, then come here. This was a highlight of my trip and I'll be dreaming of coming back.

I recently stayed at Kekčeva Domačija and had a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel at home with their warm hospitality. The accommodations were comfortable and well-maintained, providing a cozy and authentic Slovenian countryside experience. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the wines and food. Ducal winery makes one of the best wines in Slovenia. They were kind enough to give us a tasting. Each wine was rich in flavor and beautifully crafted, showcasing their dedication and expertise in winemaking. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore the beauty of Slovenia while enjoying top-notch hospitality and delicious local wine.

We had a great time at Kekceva. We found the hosts to be very nice and the food was lovely too. If you are looking for a 5star hotel this place is not for you however if you want an authentic, unique and a place full of personality, don’t miss this place!

Uns wurde vor Ort - ich denke von den Betreibern - gesagt, es ist KEIN Restaurant, sondern eine Pension. Es gibt nichts zu essen oder zu trinken. Ein Besuch also leider trotz all der Schilder und der idyllischen Lage überflüssig.

Picturesque, peaceful and comfortable, original homestead in Slovenia's stunningly beautiful Soča Valley. We stayed here just one night arriving mid-trek and wished we could have stayed much longer. We happened on a cluster of beautifully kept, original, steep-roofed farm buildings with a little natural outdoor pool amid completely unspoilt surroundings in the stunning heavily-forested River Soča Valley...a throw-back in time. The unexpected delight was at supper time: Jozi is an amazing chef who produced a delicate soup, perfect homemade ravioli and sauce followed by a delicious polenta dessert all worthy of a michelin starred restaurant.
