Na Veliki planini sva z možem bila že velikokrat ,tu se življenje ustavi , letos sva bila sedej maja, doživela sva res vse vremenske raznere od poletja do zime, a je bilo prečudovito, idila za dušo. Pohvala pa bi tudi nastanitvi v koči Ojstrici, zelo urejena vse pohvale, hrana zelo ukusna in dobra....Se še vidimo

Amazing location and super helpful host. A welcome drink and snack waited for us at arrival. The full food storage made cooking super easy for us, as we were staying with kid. Kids were thrilled and had so much fun in indoors as well as outdoors. I loved the interior style, sauna and the super soft bedding. Also Rok was available all the time in case we would need any help.

One of my favorite places in Slovenia. Rok is amazing to deal with(had wine for us since we showed up early), the cottage is incredible inside and original on the outside. We went just after new year and we had the whole mountain to ourselves. The farmers breakfast option is an amazing selection of homemade meat/cheese/bread/yogurt. There is a store in the cottage that has everything you could possibly need (beer/wine/champagne/food etc). Really can not say enough about how pleasant the experience was.

Velika Planina is otherworldly and utterly breathtaking. This is THE place to stay there. The hut combines traditional architecture with surprising luxury. One of the huts is a full three stories tall, with a generous master bedroom beneath, four twin beds above, and a living room with a bed, dining table, kitchen, full bathroom, pantry and even...wait for it...a sauna. It's perfectly located with an amazing view, of course, and just a few minutes' walk from the gondola and an inn, where you can get meals. Rok, the host, is kind and generous. He'll drive guests all the way up the mountain if they like, he offers huge locally-sourced breakfasts (think fruit, bread, hyper-local yogurt, honey), so big that they can qualify as lunch and a midnight snack. He hand-writes a welcome note for each guest, leaves a bottle of homemade schnapps as a welcome gift, and can cater to any needs--just let him know. When I stayed there, the gondola was down for repairs, so he drove me all the way up the mountain and picked me up the next day. This is also a brilliantly laid-out and equipped hut (many are lovely but far more spartan). Under floor heating, a woodfire stove and plenty of wood, unlimited use of water (which is in short supply on Velika Planina, as it has to be driven up the mountain), the sauna, and a pantry filled with enough supplies to survive a zombie apocalypse (this is key because there are no stores on the mountain top, so you need to bring up anything you'll want). This was just the perfect place to stay and I'm eager to come back.

We spent 4 amazing days with friends in Koča Ojstrica on Velika Planina during the Christmas holidays. We were greeted nicely and with a personal touch by Rok. The cottage was ready, warm and clean upon our arrival. We will definitely stay again. Next time maybe during summer.

We spent 2019 Christmas here, Velika Planina is a beautiful place for hiking, chilling out, having great meals and a lot of fun. The host of this place is very friendly, customer oriented, helpful person. There is a small shop in the house with essential food and an array of drinks from spirits to beer. Can only recommend you book this place if you are thinking of spending some time on this mountain in full comfort.

We spent an awesome weekend in Koca Ojstrica, located in a true fairyland of Velika Planina. The cottage is amazing, very comfortable and well-equipped and offers breathtaking views. Rok is just a wonderful host, always willing to help out whenever needed. We all enjoyed it very much, including our dog. We're definitely coming back. Soon! :-)
