Mixed Experience with Bosch: Excellent for Some Products, Disappointing for DFS067K51 Kitchen Exhaust
I've been a loyal Bosch customer for a while, having purchased various products like an e-bike, kitchen appliances, and a washer/dryer. Until now, my experience with Bosch has been nothing short of perfect.
However, the DFS067K51 kitchen exhaust has been a significant letdown. The main issue lies in its valve system. The valve, supposedly a non-return type, is ineffectively designed with a noticeable gap. This flaw becomes all too apparent when our neighbors cook, as their cooking smells and the sound of air hissing through the gap invade our apartment. This exhaust is part of a shared exhaust system in our apartment building.
I reached out to Bosch, expecting a solution. Disappointingly, Bosch denied any fault in the product. Their advice was simply to "continue using the device" as is. Refusing to accept this, I contacted their Croatian subsidiary, only to be advised to buy a proper non-return valve from Amazon at my own expense (around 30 EUR plus delivery). Further to this, on no place is it mentioned that the device returns smells when deactivated, so this is a clear unfair commercial practice aimed at misleading customers with a hidden lack of function.
As a customer, I find this response unacceptable and a stark contrast to the quality and customer service I've experienced with Bosch's other products. It's disappointing to see a brand of Bosch's caliber overlook such a crucial aspect of product functionality and customer satisfaction.
Finally, Bosch removes all reviews on their website that do not praise their product - which is again against fair commercial practice.
