I feel like the food looks a bit better than it tastes, but yeah, it was pretty good. The ingredients seemed quite fresh and my dish contained a lot of veggies, which I liked. However, the carrots were a bit too hard still, while it all kind of tasted a bit too smokey, for my liking. Also, my rise could have been a bit warmer. The portion size was huuuge, so you definitely won't go hungry! Also, the ambience in the restaurant is great, in my opinion.

Truly execrable food. The steak was tough and drowned in grease. The waiter was arrogant bordering on aggressive. When I complained he told me that everyone else loves the food and I’m the only person who has ever complained. I thought he was going to punch me. Expensive meal too. Dreadful. Avoid this ghastly place. The photo is deceptive and the food masks the underlying layer of grease.

Nice little patio spot to grab lunch. The flautas were a good appetizer. And the guacamole was made right at the table. Service was good. Got a hamburger as well. The chicken enchiladas were good.

The food is tasty and just the right amount spicy. You can choose from a wide variety of mexican drinks and plates. The waiters are talkative and friendly, the location is superb, since it is pretty much in the center of Ljubljana. My only complaints are the higher drink prices and that the portions are a bit too small, at least in my (hungry) opinion.

Freshly made guacamole was great. The entrees were very good, but i have not been able to find a steakhouse or restaurant that serves skirt steak “Argentinian” style, i usually get a ribeye in some type of variation of chimichurri sauce. Still very tasty, though.

Prvič tukaj. V Ljubljani je težko dobiti dobro mehiško. Prvi vtis je bil pozitiven, saj ima prostor lep ambient z dobro glasbo. Postrežba je bila prijetna. Hrana je bila zelo okusna, vendar nič pretirano posebna. Škoda, da ni več izbire, saj si vezan na dnevno kosilo in a la carte. Solata je bila malo neokusna. Na splošno pa priporočam

Very disappointing lunch here. I ordered a veggie quesada grande. What I got what a tiny lettuce salad, a spoon worth of rich, and a small cheese tortilla topped by cold red peppers. Clearly the cooks working here couldn't care less for their work, and the owners couldn't care for the customers. Spend your money elsewhere.

Okay portions but the food is just so messy and bland. The portions seem bit but most of it is just unseason salad. If you order a chimichanga you will get a small one on the plate next to way too much salad and sauce. Also the rice is under cooked. But we got our food very cast so if you are in a rush its great.

My favorite dish in Joe Pena's is Anacardos. Sooo goood. Its mix of thai and mexican food. Ambient is nice, music also. Service is good.
