If you are visiting Ljubljana and it's attractions like the Triple Bridge, go a kilometer east of there and explore this river gate. It was designed by Slovenian most famous architect Jože Plečnik, hence the instead of "Ljubljanica Sluice Gate" the name "Plečnikova zapornica" is often used. It was build during the war in between the years 1940 and 1943, the war being a reason for a long construction time. It was supposed to be a footbridge as well, along it's primary meaning - a farewall from Ljubljanica, it living the city (which, nowadays, is far to the east and Ljubljanica still has a long way to go). You can relax on the banks of the river and take a look at Cukrarna. The north bank from here and to the east is mostly medical facilities. There's a nice coffee bar "Kavarna Rog" at the next bridge to the west. If you are interested in churches, there is "St. Peter's Parish Church" just 200 meters north.

Nice monumet, that is used by drog abusers and drog dealers.😢 The city authorities doesn't care about. It is more sad on Cukrarna side. Lep spomenik, ki ga močno kazi prisotnost odvisnikov od drog in razpečevalcev. Dokler se to ne reši okolica objekta ne zasluži boljše ocene.
