On the Mesarski Most, also known as Butchers' Bridge, love locks are padlocks attached by couples as a symbol of their eternal love, with many writing or engraving their names on the locks before securing them to the bridge's steel wires. This romantic tradition began shortly after the bridge's opening in 2010 and has made it a popular spot for couples, similar to other famous "love locks" locations around Europe, such as the Pont des Arts in Paris.
