I guess I’m missing something but compared to the classical art gallery across the road, I was in and out of here within 10 minutes. I appreciated the artistic expression in some of the sculptures but on the most part, and maybe I’m not sophisticated to understand it, but I was perplexed. There was one installation that was a light rod that changed colour every 30 seconds with the sound of a camera shutter. One artist was Romanticised by the thought of slitting his father’s throat whilst he watched his father shave as a child. Pass - I found it dark and glum

Great museum. Nice atmosphere. I’d plan on 2 hours. The cafe is also excellent.

Nice collection of 20th century art development. Temporary collection was very cool, sad we didn't have enough time to see all of it. Also the cafe down is very cute :)

Excellent excellent Museum - highly recommend. There was a LOT to see, the curators have really put a lot into the museum, but it's not overwhelming. Extremely varied art work, great explanations in Slovenian and English, super friendly staff. Also, the cafe is absolutely lovely, and open late on Fridays and maybe Saturdays too? Really felt like we got a lot more for our money than we were expecting 👍👍

We spent a few hours in here to try and cool down during our mid August visit. Loads to see, some great mini exhibitions on specific subjects and a well stocked book shop. Family ticket was €14 The cafe / bar downstairs was amazing, super cool layout, friendly staff, great coffee and ice cold wine. They also have outside seating. It looks like the perfect location for a good night out. Would go back daily if I lived close by.

Odlična galerija. Izjemno prostorna. Tisti, ki pazijo na umetnine, bi lahko bili nekoliko bolj diskretni. Pa kakšna večja klop za malo posedanja in opazovanja tudi ne bi škodila. Priporočam.

Očitno nisem prevelik ljubitelj moderne umetnosti. Običajno sem nad razstavljenimi eksponati v muzejih navdušen. Galerija pa me razen nekaj lepih del ni prepričala.

this gallery is laid out in a really engaging way that leads you through a timeline of slovenian art and its historical context, a really great and enriching way to spend a few hours in ljubljana. the cafe is cool too, with a casual vibe, relaxed seating on a big staircase stacked with loads of art books and magazines to flick through, and really nice coffee.
