Prijeten ogled razstavljenih kosov. Čas prehitro mine. Sprehajala bi se lahko cel dan. Spoznavanje in učenje o zgodovini ter spoznavanje del še nepoznanih umetnikov.

Rich permanent collection. Several paintings by Ivan Grohar, especially the Rakers (Grabljice), were the highlight for me.

Last year I visited the National Gallery of Slovenia, which contains the country's largest fine art collection from the medieval period to the twentieth century. The atmosphere was quiet and almost religious. Personally I was impressed by gothic sacred art, baroque and neoclassical paintings and romantic landscapes. I think that is essential to unearth slovenian artists, who are no way inferior to the european famous ones. There is also the original Baroque Robba fountain, which used to stand in Ljubljana's town square. I recommend this place if you are visiting the city.

The National Gallery has a nice collection of art, but it is not that big. You won't spent to long in here, but it is definitely worth a visit.

Save your money and time and go to the modern art gallery instead. An underwhelming collection with less than good paitinings and sculptures. The impressionist and realist wing being closed didn't help it's case, the only relatively good pieces can be found in the Biedermeier and romanticism section. In the first floor you're put up against a woman who does not greet you, furthermore doesn't reply to your greetings. She spits out a request for your tickets in the rudest possible manner and continues to harrass you and follow you like a vulture continuously instructing you on how to wear your bag even though you just purpousefully put it as far away from the piece you are viewing as possible. A lesson in manners and professionalism is in order. Overall an experience unworthy the ticket price.

Magnifique musée : le bâtiment moderne er classique vaut déjà par lui-même la visite, les peintures sont très bien organisées (chronologiquement et par thème), enfin, quand on a déjà passé quelques jours en Slovénie, on retrouve les paysages rencontrés. Cerise sur le gâteau : pas d''audioguide, mais des qrcodes sous quelques tableaux, rendant plus vivante la visite. L'exposition temporaire m'a permis de découvrir une incroyable artiste slovène.

The two temporary exhibitions were excellent, so it's worth buying the combined ticket for both them and the permanent collection. This was an interesting overview of art in Slovenia, arranged chronologically.

Really nice Museum, it has a fairly large collection of Slovenian artists. Nonetheless, might be a but expensive for your taste, in my case was 7€ and I had a discount. But it was worth it, I really liked it
