I've never encountered such hostility in the mountains. The keeper would grunt and make you feel like a nuisance for regular things, like ordering coffee. God forbid you ask for anything – you'll get 'that's none of my concern' thrown into your face. The room was dirty; my sheet was covered in black hairs and obviously wasn't washed, even though I'd paid extra for the bedding. I didn't dare ask for a fresh one because of how I'd been treated. But when I had to pay the same price for the second night, I asked why I'm paying for the same bedding twice, and he just shouted: 'What!? It's 40, like yesterday!' There were many more rude and degrading instances directed towards me and some other guests, which would take too long to list here. Whenever the keeper of the chef had to say something, they would yell at people in most humiliating way. This isn't me as a customer complaining about imperfect service. This is me as a girl in a vulnerable position, alone, coming back to my home country after years of living abroad and wanting to visit our beautiful mountains. Yet, I ended up being treated like dirt, feeling unwelcome and absolutely broken.

Fraud and bad quality of food! The owner takes a price for “half-board” but serves you much less food than you would have had if you’d payed your dishes separately. The food served is very low quality, especially the breakfast

Hier zien ze mij nooit meer terug! De meest onbeschofte onvriendelijke eigenaar ooit gezien in een berghut!!! We doen al verschillende jaren bergtochten met onze kinderen maar dit hadden we nog nooit meegemaakt! Ongelofelijk.

Refuge à éviter : accueil catastrophique, prix exorbitant, propreté laisse à désirer. Passer votre chemin et aller à 15 min au refuge Komni .

My Brother and I arrived to the hut on a rainy day , wet and cold , Branko hut keeper put on a fire and made us very welcome . Hilda his wife cooks delicious food highly recommend Bogatinski lonec , Vampi and apple strudelj was yummy . We stayed extra day due to bad weather and enjoy their company . Hut is clean and beds are comfortable and for extra charge you also have a hot shower . I will be back whenever I can . 😀

This was a lowlight in the generally amazing service you get in the mountain huts in the Julian Alps. Maybe they were understaffed, but the service was tense, impatient, and the dinner (gulash) very poor quality. They also sell water at an unusually high premium (6 EUR / liter, while other huts offer it at 5 EUR for 1.5 liters).
