We wanted to acknowledge Hour Away and our host, Nejc, for a fantastic bike tour in Slovenia. We spent 5 days in mid September/24 touring with Nejc on mountain e-bikes. We appreciated the philosophy, flexibility and details Nejc provided from the beginning to the end of the trip, especially how he sources local and sustainable aspects of travel. These included excellent e-bikes, top notch transportation, reliability, fantastic accommodation and intelligent and thought provoking conversation. Through Nejc, we learned so much about so many facets of Slovenia; geography, geology, agriculture, education, culture and history. Amazing all that can happen while you mountain bike your way through the stunning country of Slovenia!

My wife and I just finished a two-week trip with HourAway in Sept. 2024. I found this company just doing internet exploration and it looked good so took the chance. Wow was I glad that we did! Not only is Slovenia AMAZING (safe, super clean, friendly, uncrowded, and beautiful), but the two guides we had were perhaps the best we have ever had! They helped us plan a greatest hits tour of the country with a focus on outdoor adventure (our choice). We used their very well maintained mountain bikes on some days and hiked on others. Side activities like small local farm visits, cheese and wine tastings, were added to make it a more cultural experience. HourAway was completely flexible to make changes on the fly to our itinerary and everything in the country is so convenient with all drives shorter than two hours. If you want to get a wonderful taste of Slovenia with the friendliest professional guides, I wholeheartedly recommend HourAway!

WOW! HourAway far surpassed my expectations in every possible way! Nejc and Uroš catered our 14 day chick trip to turn our adventures into spectacular memories! As an avid mountain biker from Colorado, I was at first skeptical about Ebiking and after day one, I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way! Amazing biking, hiking, swimming and even rafting in picturesque scenery through the many diverse Slovenian regions, quaint accommodations, cultural culinary delights, schnapps, and much laughter with old and new friends truly filled my heart! This was a highlight of our trip! Nejc planned an amazing ride for us and was so kind, flexible, and communicative. This is a great way to see Slovenia and the route is through very well-kempt gravel roads with minimal cars so it felt very safe. He gave great recommendations for dining and points of interest along the way.

We rented gravel bikes from Hour Away and really enjoyed it. The bikes are in a very good condition and Nejc was very helpful with many amazing tips for cycling and hiking in Slowenia. Definitely recommend it!

Had an absolutely amazing experience with Nejc & Orus leading us fearlessly on an adventure of a lifetime!!! Felt like I meet my long lost brother(s) as we were shown the beautiful countryside and learned a lot of history about Slovenia - the trip was custom made for our small group of experienced women; the e-bikes gave us each the ability to challenge ourselves or enjoy the ride and still stay together, and Nejc/Uroš did a wonderful job of matching the terrain/routes to our skill level. We had little to worry about as everything - from lodging, to having our bikes clean & ready every day and being introduced to local treats and stories that made our trip feel more like a family homecoming than a bike tour!! I will forever remember the attention to detail they gave, the friendships fostered and unforgettable memories!!

This was my first guided trip of any kind, and I'd have to say it was spectacular. Together with three other gal pals from Colorado, we booked a 14 day guided e-bike trip with Nejc. He tailored the entire trip to our abilities and was willing to tweak the trip to our wants. We wanted more riding and less hiking, and so we rode. High mountain huts and unique Slovenian foods were experienced on our highest climbs. After each ride, hot and sweaty, they found a secluded lake that invited a refreshing plunge. Nejc took special care of all the accommodations for us so we were set upon arrival. They transported us, our gear, and the e-bikes to each new destination area. We met so many incredible people and had the time of our lives.

They were the subcontractor for a tour we booked through Slovenia Cycling Holidays. Nejc was super knowledgeable and friendly, bikes were high quality, and route was fabulous and we wouldn’t have found it on our own. It pieced together single track, dirt and gravel roads, and small roads.

A month before our Trip we contact to this well organized tour organisation. He quickly responded and send pictures of the tour bikes and paniers. In Ljubljana, we were picked up directly at train station, what a comfort. Two weeks later the bikes were picked up again at city center. We had great touring bikes and no technical issus at all. We got lot of great tips. Thanks for this wonderful bike experience in slovenia.

HourAway is a fantastic bike rental company in Slovenia. The bikes provided were brand new and for a relatively cheap price compared to other companies. The people at HourAway are also very responsive and do everything they can do ensure a smooth and hassle free delivery of the bikes. The 2 days I spent riding with HourAway in early May remain a highlight of this year. To be a great bike guide you need to love both cycling and your country. With Nejc I felt as if I was visiting an old friend so he can show me his favorite riding spots. The places we visited were spectacular, the routes - carefully planned for my skill level so they would be just a tiny bit challenging without ever feeling overwhelming. I can’t think of a single thing in this trip which has not been perfect and I am looking forward to picking up where we left the next time I visit Ljubljana.

Nejc with Hour Away was professional and easy to communicate with, treating us as if we were friends borrowing bikes. We rented gravel bikes that were equipped with everything we needed for an epic week-long tour through Slovenia and Italy! The bikes were very well maintained, and we didn’t run into any mechanical issues over 560 kilometers of riding. If you are looking for a local and an absolute expert of all of Slovenia, with the kindest and most thoughtful personality, who just wants to make the perfect adventure specifically for you, then look no further and book Houraway, right away. I'd biked through Slovenia before and wanted a more unique experience, to see the hidden gems of this beautiful country, and that is the tour Nejc designed. Everyone at HourAway was fantastic. I rented a gravel bike for 1 week with the touring package. They bought the bike to my hotel on the first day and picked it up on the last day. The package included panniers and all the equipment I needed so I didn’t need to pack much for my trip. Slovenia is a great country to cycle in and HourAway were very responsive and offered suggestions.
