We rented bikes from Nejc to do the Slovenia West Loop. The bikes were tuned well and managed the loop with zero mechanicals or flats. Pickup + dropoff was easy and Nejc held our luggage during the trip. Would totally recommend!

My wife and I spent a week with Nejc from HourAway Tours and had fun biking the mountain trails he took us on. Slovenia is a beautiful, clean and well maintained country, and we enjoyed learning about some of its history. We stayed in small village accommodations at night and biked almost every day, all day long. Our itinerary took us from a huge valley, to the mountains at the base of the Swiss alps, to the picturesque seaside. We had elaborate breakfast spreads that kept us full the whole day, and then sampled local cuisine in the evening. Nejc is very organized and accommodating, and he chose trails with just the right amount of challenge for our ability. We would highly recommend using HourAway for a great Slovenian holiday.

We had the trip of a lifetime thanks to Nejc. He took us through a lot of Slovenia on bikes or hiking mountains. Slovenia is beautiful and we had a very personal experience. We were treated like family everywhere we went. Our accommodations couldn’t have been any better. Nejc was the best tour guide. Najc made us feel very welcomed to his country Slovenia. We experienced and learned the Slovenia culture while biking and hiking through the country. We were treated as family everywhere we went. The accommodations, hand picked by Nejc, were excellent. Just returned from the most fabulous holiday in Slovenia. A new destination for us & an absolute gem. Pristine clean, picture postcard perfect, friendly welcoming accommodation, people & great restaurants. Our trip was organised from start to finish by Nejc from HourAway as a e-bike & hike tour. The e-bikes were super & Nejc’s instruction gave our group the confidence to enjoy them from the start & push that little bit harder to fully enjoy the amazing views from high & sweeping downhills. We swam in lakes, rafted down a clear azure river & enjoyed local food & wine together in traditional restaurants & wineries in out-of-the-way places. This was all due to Nejc’s organisation & creativity devising our itinerary to fit within the number of days we had together. Above all we got to know Nejc & enjoy his company. He is so proud of his country & his enthusiasm for outdoor activities made the most of the scenery, mountains, rivers, villages & local culture. It is without doubt the perfect way to enjoy Slovenia. Go ahead & try it!

First visit to Slovenia and it is a truly beautiful country. Very diverse in a small area, so you can move from mountains to rolling wine-growing hills and then a beach is just a few hours. Nejc is a brilliant host and guide, gently encouraging our group to try things they had not done before. He has developed a great range of activities and made the trip very personal to all of us. We had a great time exploring Poljanska Valley with Uroš, covering a variety of terrains and seeing lots of beautiful views. Everything was very well tailored to both of us and we had a very fun active day trip from Ljubljana that we would highly recommend. Everything was super well-organised as well. Excellent and quick communication and we were picked up and brought back to the accommodation we were staying. Would definitely book an activity or even trip with Houraway again 😊

We have met Nejc 2 years ago in slovenia and did a guided MTB day tour with him. We had a great time and 2 years later we went back to Slovenia and did a 5 day self guided MTB holiday booked via Nejc, “the hidden trails” route. Everything went really smooth and the bikes were of great quality. I had an E-MTB and my partner a full suspension MTB. On arrival at the airport he picked us up and brought us to skofja loka where we received the bikes & had our first overnight stay at a great hotel (turizm loka). The day after we started biking to the next location stari vrh, which had a great view. The accommodations were all great. We also loved the fact that our luggage was picked up in the morning and brought to the next destination the day after. In soriska planina we also did the hike that Nej added to the app, which had lovely views! In hotavlje we have spent 2 nights at homestead farm tesnak and loved the location, owners, breakfast and hospitality. On the final day we biked back to skofja loka and were brought to Ljubljana by Nejc, where we have spent our last 3 nights before going home. The 5 bike rides were great and offered a lot of variation and nice views. We hope to come back and explore some other areas. Nejc is a great guy who offers an awesome experience and service. Totally recommended!

I was hoping to give my family a taste of mountain bike experience and choosing Nejc was a spot on! He was very professional explaining all details to my daughter and wife at the beginning of our trip and he made sure everyone felt safe and taken care of. I was really surprised my family was able to make a 40 km trip in Poljanska valley and despite of very hot weather we all ended up with a broad smile on our faces. I don't need to mention that e-bikes we rent for wife and daughter were in very good shape. At the end of our trip we spent a very good time at the table, talking about everything, history and present of our countries etc. Nejc is very easy going person, I'm sure that if I ever visit Slovenia for mountain biking, my first choice will be him! My cycling trip with Houraway was an absolute highlight! Nejc was an amazing bike guide, brimming with knowledge and a contagious passion for cycling. The carefully planned route took us through breathtaking landscapes and charming villages that left me speechless. We had a great time riding with Nejc! He was an excellent guide, starting with all the important safety points and how to properly use our e-bikes. Then he took us to a gorgeous location outside of Ljubljana (e-bikes were a necessity!) He was able to accommodate the varying levels of experience in our group and everyone felt comfortable. He was very supportive of the member in our group who felt a little uneasy going down the steep hills. He took beautiful photos for us with his professional camera and answered all our questions about the area. We enjoyed lunch at lovely little traditional Slovenian restaurant before riding back into Ljubljana. We highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for something a little more adventurous while you’re in Slovenia! (If you are not a regular biker (or even if you are), we also recommend wearing bike shorts or pants if you have them to help with the “first ride of the season” type of soreness!)

Nejc Peternelj guided us for 14 days to amazing places of beauty, history and culture that we never would have discovered without him. His planning for our comfortable accommodations and excellent meals was incredible. And the trails had just the right balance of challenge and incredible scenery that made our group of four sad to end the holiday. Can’t wait to do it again.

Four of us had a guided tour with Nejc for two weeks mountain biking in Slovenia. Our every need was met with professionalism. Nejc was knowledgable, considerate, prompt and fun. The bike riding was carefully chosen for our abilities. The hotel accommodations he chose for us were perfect. We were taken on several tours (wine, cheese and organic gardening) that were interesting and gave us a chance to interact with locals. You won't be disappointed with this trip.

Our guided tour with Nejc of Hour Away bike tours and cycling holidays was outstanding. Nejc ensured our safety on a 14-day tour of his “backyard” in beautiful Slovenia. As older folks on e-bikes he pushed us to ride roads, two-track and even some single track to incredible vistas in the mountains. While each day was mostly planned, Nejc was flexible and managed to answer a multitude of questions. He knew great cheese makers, wineries and important historical and ecological sites to visit. I highly recommend Hour Away and Nejc.

Nejc organized an awesome eMTB trip for us! (and fairly last minute) We biked out from Ljubljana center and made it ~20KM into the hills nearby (thank you e-bikes) covering a variety of terrain. Additionally, Nejc is just pleasurable company and we enjoyed getting the chance to hear about his experiences and share ours. Really looking forward to being able book another adventure with Hour-Away!
