Excellent service and super friendly host. They recommended two restaurant which turned out to be amazing. The rooms were clean and functional with access to a share kitchen. The view from the terrasse is definitely worth the driving necessary to get to the place!

Hiske - as we learned it from Mateja - means cottages. It was named by the wooden houses in the huge garden, built, and furnished in the traditional Istrian way. You can stay there, close to the nature, or in the more conventional (but beautiful) rooms of the central building.||||There is something about Hiske, one cannot explain. We keep returning for nearly 20 years (sorry, Mateja is not happy to hear about time), so we witnessed the hard work how this place become the beauty of today. We bring friends eventually, and they are always the same impressed. I've no idea, how the magic works. If it does not touch you in the first moment, just you wait. In a few hours this enchanted place will seduce you. And one quiet morning you shall realize, you never want to leave anymore.||||Closest places to go:||||Koper is about 15 minutes drive among green and pleasant woodlands and meadows. (You need some practice to drive on those narrow roads, if you don't like tight pass byes, better go by bus, or better even bike).||||The best place to bath is Isola, about 20 minutes driving away. For the beach, don't go in town, just keep driving on the motorway over the tunnel (Portoroze), and when you see Hotel Belvedere, drive downhill behind it. Parking is right at the shore, 1EUR per hour. You will swim only some stairs away from your car. ||||Piran is about 34-40 minutes. Not enough characters here to say anything worthy about this spectacular town.||||Skocjan Jama, or Predjama Castle are less than the hour driving.||||As a thumb rule, if any information you need, don't waste your time on google, ask Mateja. In fact, Hiske is Mateja. She is always there, invisibly, only appearing when you need her. She will tell you anything, as what to see, where to eat, where to fix the car. And it always works out.

Zanimiva gostilna na lepi lokaciji. Za gostilno, v istrskem stilu zgrajene, manjše turistične hiške. Sicer še nisem prespal mi je pa lastnica z veseljem vse razkazala. Zelo minimalistično in okusno opremljene. Primerno za vse, ki imajo radi mir. Midva sva probala njihovo tekočo ponudbo. Od domačega žganja do vina. Zelo dobro. Sva naprej lažje kolesarila. Priporočam😀

You need a taxi or a car to get here, but it is not far from the city center of Koper -Capodistria. I would raccomand it if you like to wake up in the nature with fresh air and a beautiful view. It is really peaceful and a "land without criminality". Loved it!

The place is in a mountainous area, far from the noisy town. Perfect spot to blend in the nature and appreciate the breathtaking views down the Koper coast and Trieste, which are even more stunning at night. The hosts Mateja and her family are perfectly friendly and helpful, trying to make my stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfast was great, generous portion to keep me energized for the day. The room was clean and comfortable to make me sleep like a baby. I think this is the best place Koper and Slovenia nature and people can offer.

We went here for a short, 1night stay. The location is incredible, on top of a hill above Koper, with the bay of Triest below you. The appartments are run by a family, as we arived, we met the uncle and the husband. Everyone was wery friendly, the location is incredibly peacefull.. The appartmen was wery clean, well fitted, and had no TV - great time to read a book. The surrounding countryside invites you to take a walk..or take the bike with you and go for a ride.|The breakfast was simple yet delicious, the lady made me some eggs..all in all a wery nice, homely experience.
