Just completed 9 days/350km "Best of Slovenia" bicycle tour on standard bikes hired from Helia. Bikes were excellent. Helia included a pannier each, and repair kit for the pair of us. One bike needed a bit of adjustment to derailleur. No problem for us. But if you're not mechanical take your test ride on handover seriously so that Helia can fix issues at start Hotel bookings and bag transfers were simply done. Worry free. Accommodation varied from satisfactory to great. Huge buffet breakfasts standard. A lot of route was great, some blissful, some exhilarating, some relaxed,some we just had to get through. Much of route is shared with cars, trucks - but that was fine with appropriate caution/awareness. We never had to rush, time to stop, detour, etc was great. 1 particular 750m climb was very hard for us moderately fit 55 year olds.....consider the €30 offer of a lift up that.

Peter was super nice. The bike was excellent and great value. Even let me extend with no issues via WhatsApp when i couldn't return it before closing because of vintgar gorge queues

A group of 5 did the Salzburg to Lake Bled tour. 2 were on hired E bikes 1 was on a hired hybrid, the rest were on their own bikes. All the bikes provided were excellent and had enough power and battery capacity for the 2 ladies to ride comfortably. The hybrid bike was well suited to the ride. The ride itself was beautiful, even though we had heavy rain on the first 2 days. The section through the gorge on the main road in the rain, wasn't the most pleasant, but the traffic treated us with respect, so we didn't feel afraid. All the accommodation was excellent with MIKLIČ HOTEL at Kranjska Gora being our favourite. We all had a lovely time and would like to thank the Helia crew for such a lovely tour.

Helia has been great - very responsive and reliable drivers handling transfers between hotels/trailheads and sufficiently communicative. The hikes have been nice, well marked and enjoyable although maybe just a little tougher than the description would indicate. All the lodging they arranged was good.

Zeer hulpvaardig om onze fietsvakantie niet in het water te laten vallen, terwijl we met eigen fietsen reisden. Kon uiteindelijk het voorwiel probleem niet verhelpen dus geen kosten, maar wel een uitleg waar we een nieuw wiel konden halen. Super service.

Wir hatten die Neun Flüsse Wanderung gebucht. Die Unterkünfte waren nicht schön, entweder alles sehr alt oder die Zimmer waren sehr klein. Das Frühstück war aber immer in Ordnung. Die Wanderungen waren zum Teil sehr langweilig und ohne Highlight.

Did a one week cycling tour in Slovenia, and it was OK. To be clear, Slovenia itself is amazing, but the tour organisation not so much. The bikes worked, and the route was alright, up to a point, but on some days we were directed down main roads, and on most days we did better finding our own way. We wouldn’t hesitate to do another cycling holiday in Slovenia, it’s an amazing country, but having done it with Helia once, we’d find another way if we did it again.

Our family booked a self-guided bicycle tour in late March from Bled to Postojna with Helia. It was a marvelous trip with spectacular scenery, over lightly traveled roads. Email communication with Helia was prompt and informative, and the supplied rental bike was very appropriate for the terrain with no mechanical problems encountered. The maps and route book were excellent and the hotels were very good, and a few exceptional. Lake Bled and Postojna Cave were among the most beautiful places I have ever seen. We look forward to another tour with Helia in Croatia in the future.

We rented two touring bikes for a few days. On the last day of our tour one of our bikes lost 2 screws that linked the rack to the bike. I told the girl in charge “please, be careful because the screws were not tightened enough and I could have had an accident. Just take that into account for next rentals”. She was quite unpolite and answered me “ you signed a contract when receiving the bike, agreeing everything was ok. I won’t argue with you” It is obvius that when checking the bike you don’t check every single screw... I just was hoping a single sentence: “we take this problem into account” and that’s it. But by contrast I was dismissed with a hostile actitude. Never again. Lack of professionality.

We have just finished the Pearls of Slovenia tour and we loved it. The landscapes are wonderful and the hotels were great. It is important to know that part of the trip is shared with cars, but it was not stressful for us. We would give 5 points if the communication with the company would have been easier and more clear. We are happy that we made the trip and we would repeat.

We walked stages of the Alpe-Adria Trail arranged by Helia. After a pleasant and good briefing the evening before, we started the trail. It is very beautifull to hike. The arranged accomodations were very good. Unfortunatelly one of us got a food injury and after contacting Helia they arranged everything very well to get help and to continue our journey as best as we could. We are certainly thinking of a next hike by Helia.

De verhuur van fietsen was wat minder professioneel dan we hadden verwacht. De fietsen waren wel perfect onderhouden en zorgden voor een zorgeloze rit.

We did the Helia Emerald in august 2020. While there's many good things about the experience just too many things went wrong. The bikes that were delivered were the wrong size. Helia corrected that, but the bikes were just not super. They were somewhat "worn" and all had some problem with the gear shifting. The drinking bottle holders were mounted under the frames in such a way that the bottles interfered with the front wheel and were not usable. When discussed with Helia they were very stubborn about this - my contact person told me "your bottle is too big !". Apparently some top guy in the firm had decided to mount the bottle holders in this impossible place to prevent people from reaching for the drinking bottle while driving. While I appreciate creativity, if this person takes such a decision he should study all the drinking bottles in existence and check that these can be used with the system he dreams up. When it turned out that we had to skip Muggia because of Covid-19 rules. They simply told us to make the last two tours in one day instead of two. That turned out to be 55km with 600 height meters in an excruciatingly hot climate. We decided to take the train for the first 36km of that trip. But having been largely disappointed by the Helia organisation, we organised all that ourselves. Slovenia is not a biking country. There are not many roads with separate bicycle tracks. Most of the trips follow normal roads with sometimes quite some traffic. Not all Slovenian drivers behave prudently when they see a family with two teenagers struggling to climb a 10% hill. We encountered too many driver that were rude and didn't care about our safety. That being said, the hotels were nice and luggage transportation worked fine every time.
