This Lifetime Experience is a day well spent, foraging for mushrooms in Slovenia as my ancestors might have done it. Our guide, Lado, took the time to explain each type of mushroom we discovered and identify the harmful ones, before cooking the edible ones for a delicious, natural feast. I am so glad I took time out from the hectic pace of trying to see everything to spend a few peaceful hours in the forest.

We were a small of group of 3 friends that decided on Slovenia at the last minute. As we had nothing planned, we completely lucked out and got Lado as our private tour guide for 2 full days (we booked one but then had such a great time, we added a second day). He was super knowledgeable about everything we wanted to see and suggested things we didn't know about. We would recommend anyone coming to Slovenia to jump on booking with Lado right away as he was flexible with times, honest with what was worth seeing and not, knew all the BEST places to eat and drink. We wished we hadn't pre-booked dinners because he had so many more options we didn't know about. Lado is very personable, super friendly and has a great attitude. He took pictures of us throughout the whole thing so we have tons with all three of us in them. We three came home with plans to bring our families back and to book with Lado again! A fungus affair (aka: a splendid day with Lado!): The short of it- BEFORE I met Lado: That plate is mine- no mushrooms! YOU eat the mushrooms yourself! AFTER I met Lado: Oh… can I try that one too?! (Picture a look of curiosity, surprise and bliss) The slightly longer of it- Rather than talking you through the experience step by step (especially since these adventures are uniquely planned depending on the season, weather, group members’ needs etc.) I’ll hash out some thoughts pertaining to the entire day: 1. Lado is incredibly warm and inviting. He is creative and very well-planned in his organization- and he loves playful surprises (there was a local secret he shared with us just before sunrise on this particular trip. I shan't disclose it here, but you’ll be able to see it in the mini documentary once it comes out). 2. Lado is amazingly in tune with nature and with people. He has a joy and a sense of humor that are contagious. Throughout the day I felt so taken care of- and I know my fellow mushroom hunters felt the same. 3. One of the best parts- mushroom hunting is only ONE of the things you can do with Lado through Lifetime Experience! 4.Mushroom foraging (on one’s own) isn’t something one picks up in a day. Having Lado’s expertise and hands-on instruction was invaluable. Lado provided a lot of helpful guidance, but I would not dream of going without an expert like him! I felt safe and empowered at the same time. 5. I loved the stories and explanations Lado shared, bringing history and science alive. This was a holistic and invigorating experience that touched all senses and spoke to mind, body, and soul. Thank you, Lado!

"A must" if you want to experience Ljubljana in a different, authentic and a mystical way. As the name suggests, it will be a lifetime experience for sure. Ljubljana is way more and beyond the centre of the city. There are some amazing places, hidden gems that only be experienced with Lado and his Lifetime experience tours. Do not miss the chance to see and feel the nature, the places and the mysticism that Lado has for you.

A truly unique, bucket list-style experience. This trip combined 6 days of riding at a variety of locations with tours of the spectacular sites and scenery of beautiful Slovenia. The pace was fast; a very active vacation rather than a relaxing, lie-on-the-beach vibe, but there was nothing I would have skipped! Lado was an enthusiastic host who managed to herd all 10 of us with good humor. All meals (which prominently featured local cuisine and wines) and accommodations were first rate. The post-trip suggestions and transportation arrangements in Croatia also went off seamlessly. Our fault that we rushed that part of the trip and didn't leave nearly enough time to linger as was recommended. I would absolutely travel with Lado again!

I had the most magical time on a weeklong ride in Slovenia with Lado from lifetime experience. Lado took care of all the details and organized the best horses for us to ride. I was with nine other women, all my friends, and he Took care of us for a whole week. Horses, lodging, food, extra curricular activities! it was truly a fairytale experience. Lado pays attention to detail and he’s well-connected and made sure our experience was very special! Lado also organized our transport and some sightseeing for the following week into Croatia. Thank you Lado for a trip of a lifetime!

Beautiful rides in Bled and surrounding areas. Lado is excellent at organizing group trips in the area of Slovenia and beyond. I would highly recommend him for any adventure, large or small groups, including other activities like hiking, caves and other.

Hello Lado, Sorry it's been so long.....I wanted to let you know the two rides I had were great - both horses were wonderful. In Zirovinca, the views were spectacular as Spila and I rode along roads for much of the time, then trails as well, going up steep hills. We cantered just a little. In Rob, the ride "hit the nail on the head", as we say. I'm partial to greys, and a strong grey gelding was waiting for me, with a western saddle. It was like an old friend....it had been so long since I'd ridden western...and the horse was marvelous. Gaspar asked me if I wanted to trot, then canter, and we enjoyed long canters on the mountainside and also in the fields. It was my dream, Lado.....this horse was so willing, comfortable and safe. We made the trip to Slovenia to celebrate my 70th birthday......this ride was the icing on the cake....but much better than cake!!!! Please let Gaspar know how much I enjoyed the ride. A big "thank you" for arranging the riding - both Spila and Gaspar mentioned that it is not unusual to accommodate just one rider, and I SOOOOO appreciate that! They both seemed happy to take me out....the weather was perfect both days, so who doesn't want to go riding on a beautiful day? Again, thanks so much, Bea Handel
