The main Train station in Slovenia hasn't been renovated since the 80s. This is shown in the decor, gilded metal and marble, and poor access for people with disabilities. The worst are the employees, unmotivated and sloppy - the crappy ambiance does shape their mood. Cafés are horrible, if the McDonalds is the highlight of the building, it says alot. Shitty cafe next to a shitty Magazine vendor - fits together. What you notice quickly, is that inside there are no benches for people to wait. This is to avoid bums and drugies to use them. Never mind the old people that missed their train, again this is great for McDonalnds as it is the cleanest area to sit. Still you see many hitchhikers and interrailers just laying on the floor.. The underpass to the gates is again stuck in time, the digital screens added recently do help, but it is still badly marked. More bad Cafes and fast foods here.

Its warm inside, which is nice in winter, but not enough places to sit down if you have a long wait for train. Many people sit on the floor. Not possible to charge your phone anywhere. There is a waiting room with many seats, but for some reason was locked. What on earth would be the reason to lock a waiting room? Isnt it supposed to be open and available?

Well, it gets the job done It's not like modern european stations, that said, there are no shops at all. One dated caffe and that McD... (which I dontlike at all, anywhere). For food, there is plenty of options across the main street towards city centre. At info and cashier's desk, there is very crowdy in rush hours. Train platforms are some 300 m away from ticket office, so arrive at keast 15 min before train departure. The building itself is from austro hungarian monarchy, in more or kess original restoration. It is nice.

Do not take a taxi in front of the station. If you don't know Slovenian, a taxi driver can lie. You received 27 euros for five minutes. Money doesn't matter. I am disappointed in Slovenians 택시타지마세요!!!!
