When we travel (often) I spend a lot of time researching to find unique and special spots for dinner serving great food without pretense; not easy. Pri Mari is exactly the type of place we enjoy. It’s not very big and quite simple in terms of atmosphere. There’s no amazing seaside view but what it does have in abundance is fresh well prepared seafood and other local dishes. We began our meal by sharing a bowl of steaming pasta with fresh shavings of black truffles-delicious. For the main, fresh grilled whole fish, Branzino, for two which was expertly filleted table side and served with some sautéed spinach and potatoes. We shared a bottle of local white wine recommended by the server as well, which like the wine across Europe was very reasonably priced. Food was fantastic as was the chocolate (mousse) tart we had to finish off. The only knock is the lack of AC-even on a cooler day the small space can feel a bit close, so dress in lightweight clothing and you’ll be just fine. Absolutely superb overall and special spot oozing local-ness.

Un restaurant à l'écart du centre ville de Piran. Des habitués y étaient donc ce n'était pas un attrape touristes. Une bonne cuisine, locale, produits qui semblent frais. Un peu cher néanmoins mais nous sommes à Piran. Un service agréable mais sans plus. Si vous arrivez avant 13h, vous pouvez attendre un peu avant d'être servi, les cuisines venaient d'ouvrir.

We got to know the place from a local recommendation and it was a really good experience! the local atmosphere & the tasty food well deserved the 5 stars! book in advance if you are around! the friendly staff advice was really helpful to enjoy the dinner, portions are good for sharing & the bass deserves a special mention!

Posto sconsigliato. Un’ora d’attesa per i primi piatti (senza antipasto) ed alcuna parola per avvisare di ciò. L’attesa non ne è valsa assolutamente la pena per il cibo arrivato. Lui scortese.
