We had a very pleasant meal here. The menu is very well thought out, with something for everyone. The wine selection seems fine too, we went for a slovenian natural white wine which was delicious. The meal consisted of foccacia, smashed cucumbers, braised lamb, catfish kiev and some crepes suzette. Each of them had their own thing going on, and it was all exceptional. But the lamb was the real highlight. The service was nice, the waiter took care of us just enough. You can tell this restaurant really does not want to be fine dining, and the service reflects that in a great way. They do not explain every component seperately, no fancy ribbons, just what you need. And to tie it all together, the atmosphere is very nice. A little intimate in the main dining room, or if you want some one on one, there is also separés. Price wise it is also very acceptable. We did spend around 50€ per person, but you can easily spend 30€ or less. A great choice for anyone, whether you want meat fish or vegerables done in a new and exciting delicious way!

Very cool place and enthusiastic staff. They know exactly what they're serving and manage to fit your personal preferences as well. The food was excellent, and for the small part that it wasn't, they were honest upfront about a small mistake they made (and made up for it with a small birthdaydrink for my boyfriend). The food was a perfect integration of traditional food, local and seasonal products into modern cuisine.

Aftr is a restaurant where we would like to return. We had a great evening, enjoying the tasty food and delicious wine. However, the great experience is not only about great food. The difference was made by the personnel this time. Aside from the skilled chef, Miha was the one who added value to our stay at Aftr. We had a feeling that he cared about all of us as if we were his guests in his house. Great service, Miha!

Based on a singular experience. The food was brilliant but… half of the menu was unavailable, service was frustratingly poor and slow with very basic things being totally overlooked. Ambiance is lacking - I’m not a fussy person and understand the frustration of a busy service however to warrant a Michelin plaque this was simply not up to expectation. The food was delicious and huge compliments to the chef… we had the hummus, focaccia, steak and mushroom pasta - lovely. Don’t like leaving bad reviews but we won’t be coming back in a hurry!

Now....that was a disappointment. Let me tell you why and how. The story of refused Michelin star is creating a Robin Hood rebel style, kind of promising. And the first impression was nice. Simpsthic, kind and skilled waitress recommended nice wine and it gave a filling of nice expectation. When food came....well that's another story....T bone was correctly made according to wishes, but was cold. The fat on the edges was room temperature, plate was cold....side dishes, potatoes cold, green beans-pure fiasco; cooked and fried after that till brown, so you had a feeling you are esring plastic tubes. Some salsa and pickled something was ok-ish but in total discord with other (no) tastes. All in all 190€ for one T-bone, 4 glasses of wine and side dishes that were really nothing special (not even warm) is just not ok. Where did the guys from Michelin eat....I have no idea.

Aftr is a standout bar and restaurant in Ljubljana with a truly creative approach to food. They change their menu based on the season, which keeps things fresh and exciting. I love how they offer unique, yet local dishes that you won’t find at other restaurants in the city. The smaller portion sizes are a great idea, as they let you sample a variety of dishes. It’s perfect for anyone who enjoys tasting different flavors and experiencing local Slovenian food with a twist. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Ljubljana!

Everything was delicious! We went with some of the recommendations of our waiter and did not disappoint. The cucumber with yogurt dill sauce was very refreshing for the hot day, and the octopus was also fantastic.

I wanted to try this place and it was in my list of “to try”. This is my honest feedback. The food is not bad. I liked the creativity in the dishes but I found the dishes needing a bit more flavor. It might be a European thing, but I always find the flavors a bit dialed down. At AFTR it was the same issue. This doesn’t mean the food was bad, on the contrary, it was great. The service was perfect as well. I loved the Mashroom Pasta dish they had (I am a huge Mashroom fan). Their lamb dish was also good.
