This place is run by the same team that run Monstera bistro that closed a while ago and you can tell. The service is properly nice and the food is absolutelly sublime, accompanied by a great selection of white & red wines. Paid around 85€ for two and was well-worth it. Would definitelly visit again!

What an ending of our vacation, couldn’t have wished for a better one! 🙏🏻 The food was AMAZING! We had a few very good dinners in Slovenia the last 2,5 weeks, but this was next level 😍 The textures, flavors, level of expertise and detail was extremely high. And very surprising combinations and substitutions. The prices are really reasonable and well worth it! For instance, instead of pasta with the Cacio Pepe, they used Turnip and local cheese. It really tastes like the real deal I had in Rome more than 10yrs ago 🤩 With cheeks I prefer normally pork cheeks, then veal and last beef. They usually have more flavor, are more tender etc. I normally even never try beef cheeks anymore, cause they have disappointed me every time, with boring flavors, (although beef stews like Rendang or Flemish beef can be amazing too), but these were top notch 💪🏻 The wines, the couch, the service, everything was on point. Except 2 minor things. 1. The lighting from the kitchen is a bit too much 2. The choice of music didn’t fit the scenery and food. It also was bit too loud and the bad acoustics didn’t help either. Maybe they want to be new and trendy, and I normally love the rock music they played, but it really surprised us. It wouldn’t hold us back to come back (apparently we were the first to mention it, in the year they have been existing now), cause the food is so great. I gave them the tip about it straight up, like everyone always should! (I’ve worked in restaurants for 20yrs).

Last night's dining experience at Georgie Bistro in Ljubljana was amazing. The creative use of locally-sourced ingredients elevated each dish to a new level. The standout for me was their innovative caccio e pepe with turnip, the delightful red mullet, tender veal roast, and beef cheeks. To savor the meal fully, don't miss out on their desserts, and be sure to enjoy their must-try rhubarb cocktails and tea brandy. These delightful beverages add a unique touch to an already memorable gastronomic journey. Without a doubt, a solid 10/10 recommendation for those seeking a complete and remarkable dining experience.

Food is exquisite, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is very cozy and relaxed. These guys may be young, but they're no beginners. They were cutting their teeth with some of the most decorated chefs and have been managing Monstera, one of Ljubljana's hottest restaurants. Now they've decided to start completely on their own, under a new name. Our first visit shows that they are well on their way to success. The menu is flexible, so you can opt for either a seven or a five course tasting menus, or pick each dish individually. They have a wide selection of local (mostly organic) wines and they put great thought into pairing them with food. Chef Gregor is great in the kitchen, but he's also a wine buff, with a WSET 3 degree to prove it. Dorotej heads the front of the house and is responsible for the wine list and your good mood while you're there. If you visit Georgie bistro once, you're bound to return many times!
