Just had the best dinner here! Food was delicious and hospitality was amazing! The staff suggested great local wine pairings for our meals. One of us had the vegan menu and loved it as well! Thank you!

The food was presented beautifully. We have been to many local Slovenian restaurants, Michelin guide places and Michelin star restaurants and we were excited to try out this restaurant that is on the Michelin guide. However, we were very disappointed with the “Highland” menu. They served us crumbs with water. The marinated trout didn’t seem to be marinated at all, it tasted like raw fish and nothing else. The fish dish supposed to have hints of balsamic and apricot but all it could be tasted was the raw fish. The porcini ice cream was the worse thing we had, needed to rush back to our room to wash our mouths, the after taste was not pleasant. They were serving the next dish before cleaning the plates from the previous serving. At some point our table was full of dirty dishes and silverware. The other dishes were ok, but nothing memorable. I believe the restaurant and chef put a lot of work and dedication to craft a nice experience and we just happened to run into not their optimal experiment, which happens.

Really good food and wonderful wine. We got there at 6pm and enjoyed a wonderful view, which you don’t see once it gets dark, so really recommend getting by there early. Great wait staff as well

After putting down 120€ for the reservation, we were excited for the Highland themed (local food from solvenia) dinner. The staff was lovely and helped us pick a wine for the meal which was delicious. The staff and dining room is what saved this review from being a 1 star. The meal was not good. First was the mint/pumpkin/mushroom mousse bites, which we forced down. Next came a very fishy marinated trout which was cold and warm somehow. Then came the warm aps which were good (I had the wild game ragout and husband had rabbit pie) and has us getting excited that maybe those first 2 meals were just not for us. The main entrees were also good but not stellar (I had the lamb and husband had the duck). Then came desert which should have been a knock out but the mushroom ice cream with lime mayonnaise was not good. Overall the meal was a bell curve of emotions and it gave us something to compare other meals on our trip to.

I had an extremely disappointing dining experience at this restaurant. We arrived for our 6 PM reservation to find that we were the only guests in the establishment. Initially, we thought this might be due to our early reservation, but by the time we left at 8 PM, no other diners had arrived, which raised our concerns. Unfortunately, the poor service matched the lack of patrons. The food was underwhelming and did not meet our expectations. At over $100 per person, we anticipated a much higher quality dining experience. Each course was progressively less enjoyable, leaving us with the impression that the dishes were being prepared in a microwave rather than by a skilled chef. Overall, this experience fell far short of what we had hoped for.

This restaurant was the worst restaurant that we’ve ever been to. We had a group of 4 of us and no one wanted to choke down the food. It was sooo salty and tasted microwaved. We couldn’t cut the seabass it was so rubbery. They had no idea of wine selection, they just pointed to the most expensive bottle and they had a full liquor cabinet but had no cocktail menu or suggestions for a cocktail. I gave it 2 stars for atmosphere only because it does have a beautiful view of the lake. we were the only patrons during our 6 course time at restaurant, big red flag. Someone must have known what we didn’t. It was also €400, which is insane for the quality of food.

Sarebbe necessario che il personale spiegasse che in questo ristorante si mangia SOLTANTO con dei menù fissi, da 8,7,5 e 4 portate. Alla nostra ordinazione di un antipasto e di un piatto successivo, il cameriere ha solo proferito una mezza frase meravigliata "comeeee? Solo 2 piatti ??" Senza minimamente sforzarzi per una spiegazione. A maggior ragione quando si ha a che fare con ospiti stranieri con poco inglese come bagaglio. Comunque, ottimi i 2 piatti, ma ovviamente ci è stato fatto pagare il menù di 4 portate. PESSIMI

We made a reservation and paid upfront. Staff was very friendly. Wine was very good. We ate inside but the view is partially blocked by trees. The interior is old fashioned and too stiff. The food was ok, but my son went to get a burger afterwards (after 6 courses), pork belly with a half a carrot, fish as main with some very small portion polenta. We did not stay for Coffee because We did not want to. I´m convinced the chef can cook but in my (very humble) opinion, Just give good, decent food without being to complex. At this moment it is not worth the money (300 euro for 4 people).

Wir sind mit großen Erwartungen in dieses doch sehr bekannte Restaurant 1906 am Bleeder See gegangen. Vorweg ist zu sagen, die Lage ist wunderschön. Natürlich haben wir reserviert, mit der Maßgabe bei schönem Wetter auf der Terrasse speisen zu wollen. Dieses wurde uns auch zugesagt, mit den Worten, wenn das Wetter schön wäre würden alle Gäste auf der Terrasse essen, wenn nicht würde innen serviert. Gegessen haben wir innen, obwohl es an diesem Abend um 22.00 Uhr noch 24 Grad hatte. Völlig unverständlich. Vielleicht war es der Tatsache geschuldet, dass in den unteren Räumen des Hotels eine Hochzeitsgesellschaft mit viel Musik und guter Stimmung tagte. Dann sollte man dies aber im Vorfeld kommunizieren und nicht falsche Hoffnungen wecken. Wir hatten das 7-Gang Menü und es schmeckte in Gänze gut. Ich fand die Zusammensetzung der Hauptgänge sehr fleischig. Ein Fischgang wäre eine nette Abwechslung gewesen. Der Service ist das Wort für ein Sterne-Restaurant nicht wert. Es war eine einzige Abfertigung von 7-Gängen in 2,5 Stunden. Kaum hatte man gerade seinen Gang mit Freude beendet kam der nächste. Ich sage das, weil wir kurz zuvor in Frankfurt im Carmelo Greco ein 8-Gang Menü gegessen haben. Wir brauchten dafür 4,5 Stunden. Man hatte im 1906 nicht das Gefühl noch eine Flasche Wein bestellen zu oder gar einen guten Digestif trinken zu wollen. Eigentlich Schade.

We had breakfast here everyday of our stay. The food was excellent! Their dinner service was also delicious and left us very satisfied. This was a great way to end our last night in Bled!

This is a very special restaurant the view of lake bled is spectacular. We stayed at the hotel so had breakfast, lunch and dinner here. For breakfast you can choose as many dishes made to order on the menu as you please, every one I tried was lovely. For lunch and dinner it is a tasting menu. For dinner you can choose how many courses.
