We recently visited Ljubljana Zoo with my nieces and had a fantastic experience! The variety of animals are impressive. The interactive playgrounds are perfect for kids, offering fun and imaginative play areas. The petting area was a hit. A great part of our visit was the Safari restaurant inside the zoo. The menu had a good selection of delicious meals, and the atmosphere was awesome and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to relax and refuel. They also have real (frozen) fruit smoothies and even flavored lemonades. Highly recommend. Overall, Ljubljana Zoo is a wonderful destination for a family day out, with diverse animals, engaging playgrounds, and the fantastic Safari restaurant.

The restaurant offers everything from grilled meat, nuggets, pancakes, pizza, salads to smoothies. Everyone will find something here. It is the only restaurant in the zoo. Prices are basically the same as in the city, from €12-15 per meal. Smoothies €6. The environment is already so old, but ok. Sparrows jump and fly around the diners. The food was delicious, such a classic. they also offer ice cream and coffee.

It is absolutely pointless for this place to have staff to order from. They are overtired and unhappy which makes for THE ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE that I have witnessed. This should be a self service place where you take what you need and eat the tables in front. The ONLY thing that is saving it is that it is the only restaurant in the entire otherwise magnificent zoo.

The worst service ever, anywhere. Completely disappointed. I admit, I ordered several things, one of which was an ice cream sundae priced at €6.5. Expensive, but okay, that’s just how it is. But instead, I received an iced coffee, which tasted neither like ice cream nor coffee, priced at €6. After pointing it out, the waitress admitted the mistake AND STILL charged for the ice cream sundae, meaning she nicely tricked us. I know, €0.5, it doesn’t matter. But me, you, and 98 others at half a euro each, and we already have €50. They ruined a nice family day.

Understaffed, the staff that is working is usually in a bad mood and sometimes quite rude. Dirty tables with ashes were not cleaned even before putting down ordered items. The only thing that is saving this place is that it is the only place for food/drinks in the Zoo.

Niti malo gostoljubni. Ko sem naročila pico z extra gobicami so mi prinesli pico z zelo malo gobicami in za račun sem morala prositi 3x. Hrana je bila v redu.

Tak jako většina návštěvníků jsme se během času oběda stáhli k této jediné restauraci, že zaženeme hlad. Jak nemilé překvapení pro nás bylo, když za vydatného deště oznámili, že my dovnitř jít nesmíme, protože je čas oběda zaměstnanců. Takže jsme s malými dětmi seděli alespoň pod přístřeškem co nejblíže budově, abychom nebyli úplně mokří. Silně mi ale vadilo, že během našeho jídla chodili tito zaměstnanci kouřit ven z restaurace, právě k našim stolům, kde jsme vše dýchali. 😡 Absolutně neohleduplní. Bohužel, těstoviny ani hamburger z menu neměli, tak jsme si dali alespoň pizzu, kuřecí nugety a grilovaný steak se zeleninou. Ceny přijatelné. Pizza i steak byly ok, ostatní bohužel přepečené. Dala bych pouze 1 hvězdu, ale protože nás obsluhoval milý číšník, který byl ok a projevil alespoň známky snahy, dávám hvězdy 2. Je škoda, že tak pěkná zoo má tak bídnou restauraci. Příště raději jídlo s sebou. 🙄
