Shambala je več kot azijska restavracija. Razlog za to se verjetno skriva v dejstvu, da pripravljamo najboljši tajski curry v mestu, delno pa tudi v tem, da smo mojstri povezovanja okusov. Nekatere naše jedi so zato pristno in tradicionalno azijske, druge pa lahko imenujemo ‘fusion’ (čeprav nam ta beseda sploh ni všeč, a boljše zaenkrat še nismo našli).

We had an exceptional dining experience at Restavracija Shambala in Ljubljana. The menu is a delightful fusion of Asian cuisines, primarily Thai, with influences from Japan and Vietnam. We started with the Vietnamese chicken rolls and the sliced tuna, both fresh and bursting with flavor. The miso soup was a comforting interlude before we moved on to the ginger-marinated salmon and Thai curry prawns. While all the dishes were beautifully prepared, the salmon stood out as a true masterpiece. The service was impeccable—attentive, friendly, and professional. The atmosphere is cozy and elegant, making it an excellent choice for both intimate dinners and special occasions. A standout feature is their curated selection of Slovenian wines, which paired wonderfully with the dishes. I highly recommend Shambala to anyone seeking a unique and flavorful culinary journey in Ljubljana.

Great place in center of Ljubljana. Fantastic atmosphere with very kind staff. Food was delicious and fast served. Great wine and heck of a good 🇯🇵 whiskey. Prices are little bit too high but never mind. We like it. Toilets were nice and clean. The whole place was very clean. Best regards.

We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The food was incredibly delicious, with each dish bursting with flavor. The service was outstanding; the waitstaff was attentive, friendly, and truly top-notch. Bravo! One of the highlights of the evening was the excellent selection of Slovenian wines, which perfectly complemented our meal. The restaurant was a perfect choice for celebrating a milestone birthday. The ambience was delightful, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Good option for Asian cuisine in Ljubljana. It’s primarily Thai but you can also find options from other places like Japan, Vietnam, etc. we started with the Vietnamese chicken rolls and the sliced tuna starters. Then headed on with the miso soup and finished with the ginger marinated salmon and the thai curry prawns. All our dishes were great but the salmon was fabulous. Good service and great Slovenian wine selection.

Duck was overcooked, sweet potatoes bland and greasy, mango sour sauce was canned mango chopped, broccoli was the best part of the dish. We ordered Halibut fillet with lemongrass-infused celeriac mash, coconut and raspberry gel but got chicken instead, didn’t even complain as we were hungry and we’re already waiting on food around 30min. Chicken was also overcooked, sweet potatoes chips greasy, no salt. Overall disappointing experience, food looks much better than it tastes. No Asian flavors whatsoever. Would not recommend.

Predjelo je bilo vrlo ukusno, umaci zanimljiv, za troje 58 e. Lijepo je što vam odmah kad dođete donesu bocu svježe vode koju ne naplaćuju, osobito danas kad pored pitke vode u slavini mnogi u restoranima naplaćuju vodu u boci. Glavno jelo je nasuprot tome razočaralo. Losos kakav si svatko može ispeći kod kuće, umak s limetom lošeg okusa, 23 e. Tajski curry s piščancem-zeleni loš, interesantan ljutkasti umak, ali neukusno povrće i cijelo jelo nepreporučljivo, 20 e. Skupo!
