Standing proudly in the heart of Ljubljana's Prešeren Square is the statue of France Prešeren, Slovenia's national poet. While the monument itself is a beautiful tribute to this literary giant, there's a story behind it that adds an interesting layer. Our guide pointed out the most intriguing detail - the **naked muse** figure perched above Prešeren's head. Apparently, this caused quite a stir with the nearby church authorities, who weren't too fond of the public nudity. The clever solution? Planting birch trees that strategically block the view of the muse's bust from the church entrance. A creative compromise that satisfied both sides! Despite the controversy, the Preseren statue is a significant landmark and a great spot for photos. Just be sure to take a moment to appreciate the artistry and the intriguing story behind it.

Ho visitato il Spomenik Prešernu, il monumento al poeta nazionale sloveno France Prešeren, e sono rimasto colpito dalla sua bellezza e dal suo significato. Il monumento si trova in una piazza vivace e animata, dove si può ammirare anche la farmacia centrale e la chiesa dei Francescani. La statua del poeta è imponente e maestosa, e la sua musa è delicata e graziosa. Mi sono piaciuti molto i rilievi che illustrano le sue opere poetiche, e ho apprezzato la storia d’amore tra Prešeren e Julija Primic, la sua ispiratrice. Il monumento è un simbolo della cultura e dell’identità slovena, e merita una visita. Lo consiglio a tutti gli amanti della poesia e dell’arte.

Мястото е много оживено. На едноименния площад ще видите високата близо десет метра статуя на великия поет. Статуята е обърната към прозореца, където е живяла обожаваната от него Юлия Примич. Ще видите на отсрещната сграда барелеф на вдъхвовителката на поета. Прешерн е виден представител на европейския романтизъм и неизменна част от националната идентичност на Словения. Стихотворението на Прешерн “Наздравица” е национален химн на Словения от 1991 г. Поезията му е преведена на много езици. Умира на 8 февруари 1849 г. в Кран, Словения. Този ден е известен като Деня на Прешерн и се празнува като Ден на словенската култура.
