We had a really nice couple of hours at this place and overall it’s worth a visit. The setting is beautiful and the ambience is great, but the experience with entrance alone is v limited. We went on a cool evening and although there were a number of pools to use, they were all the same (cool) temperature and there wasn’t much else to do. We decided to use the warmer ‘brine’ pool that cost as much as the entrance itself for 20mins sitting in luke warm salt water, which was comically expensive. You could have a similar experience by lounging in a free rock pool on the coast. Either way, we had a peaceful couple of hours and the setting alone is incredible.

Located in a natural park, in the middle of the salinas, it’s a nice place to spend a day in a relaxing atmosphere away from the crowded beach. Price of the ticket is not cheap (26 for 2h, 46 for 4h), but it’s a worthy experience.

If you’re British you’ll know what I mean when I say Aqua Sana it ain’t. Visited today and have to say we felt somewhat underprepared from the info on their website. We’re not regular spa-goers, so weren’t really sure what was what. So here’s my interpretation based on our visit this morning. You park in a car park with a barrier some distance from where the SatNav says you ought to be going. It isn’t all that obvious that this is where you park, but the chap in the box was very patient. It’s also actually the entrance to a salt plain nature reserve that you can visit if you’re a non-spa goer. You get collected by a chap in a golf buggy and transported to an area of the salt plain which has a reception, two toilet blocks, some showers, a ‘wardrobe’ which is a communal locker room with decent sized lockers operated by bracelets that you also use to charge drinks to, two changing rooms, a bar area (can’t sit there with a wet bum), and then a largish swimming pool, two smaller colder pools for sitting in, a ‘brine pool’ which costs extra to sit in, and three ‘walking’ pools which have smaller and larger stones in the bottom that you walk along. Also some massage ‘rooms’ which are really slatted wall ‘sheds’ with a sheet wall wafting in the breeze. There are also various sun bed areas, most with a roof. We were expecting to be given towels because that’s what happens in a spa in England, but sadly this was not the case - you need to take your own. And 2 towels per person seemed to be the norm, one for the sun bed, and one to dry yourself with. Hiring towels is a rather pricy €11 per towel. The website states very clearly that you shouldn’t take your phone in, or any water in with you, but everyone except us had their water bottle and their phone with them. The main pool was lovely, and we bobbed around for quite a bit in the sunshine. Adults only and no kids was really very relaxing. The three walking pools were interesting, but you can get a similar effect on your feet when you walk into the sea over shingle or stones. The colder pool was colder, with a cushion for your head. We didn’t fancy paying €8 each to sit in the really briny one. I had a delicious cashew nut, cocoa nibs, vanilla & date smoothie from the bar, and the lady who made our drinks was really friendly and chatty. Also unlike Aqua Sana, the showers have no complimentary shampoo or conditioner and we weren’t quite sure whether it was the form or not to wash your hair etc or just rinse the salt off before you get dressed and head out for the rest of your day. And talking of form, there seemed to be a lot of changing your bikini from wet to dry going on - the chairs in the bar had cushions you couldn’t sit on in a wet cozzie. Our total bill was €81.30 for 2 hours in wooden spa-land, hire of 2 towels, a smoothie and a cappuccino. Much better value if you take your own towels and water, although I suspect I’d still only rate it 3 stars if I’d paid the advertised €26 per person.

Very nice spa in the middle of Sečovlje salina nature park. You can enjoy in the salt water pool and lie in brine-mother water, we had sea salt scurbs and a very good massage (ask for Darja), they offer also salt-pan mud wraps - which is nice, but can be very hot if you do it in hot weather. There is also a bar with selection of healthy drinks (smoothies etc.). We spent 4 hours, but could easily be 2 more.
