Massive plateau near Kamnik is great place to explore and hike in spring and summer. You have various starting points from where you can reach Velika planina in minutes (if you take gondola) or in few hours (walking). When you are there you can see ways shepherds are living and you can taste milk product they sell. Also it is possible to rent cabins for a day or week. On weekend it gets crowded.

Extremely nice and unique place in the Slovenian Karst. There is the possibility to hike or ride a bike (mountainbike), but also to enjoy nature in these picturesque hut which are rentable. The place can be reached by car on an unpaved (a bit challenging) road or by cable car. There is a local tavern offering simple but good dishes.
