Come next summer please. It is STILL in the works, like forever, and badly unpleasant due to masses of tourists. The centre of Ljubljana as a whole, this year, is the worse experience for me, as someone who lives here. Mostly because of uncontrolled tourist masses and this year, because of massive street-works everywhere. And lack of wandering police officers. Back in the days when they closed the centre for traffic, it was a real joy to go around with kids. Today, every minute is a danger for them and we have to watch out for them not to get bumped by a bicycle, electric scooter, maybe a narco (there is more of those every day here and you can encounter used needles on very busy places also!) or a beggar, or a group of tourists who don't look where they walk. Really hope it gets better, or I'll have to move out of the centre.
