This statue is of a Slovenian national hero who wrote the Slovenian national anthem without knowing he had done so at the time. This is the center of the Ljubljana. A beautiful pedestrian zone. Unlike other tourist attractions in western European cities, I found Ljubljana to be quite charming without the hordes of tourists and tour busses. Lots of places to sit down and have a drink or a meal and the entire center of town is an easy walk from the hotel Lev where I stayed.
