My partner and I were on a trip through Slovenia to visit the wineries of the region. We hadn't known about Rencel until we visited the Movia bar in Ljubljana. Once we drank their Vincent Orange, we knew we had to visit. We emailed them and were able to set up a tasting. We had an excellent experience and we think that Rencel has some of the best wine of the region, hands-down. Their creativity and freshness in creating different cuvees or releases every year, depending on how the season goes, is so refreshing and exciting. Also, the charcuterie we had with the tasting was from a pig grown by the Stemberger's (just down the street) and it was absolutely the best either of us has ever had! It's worth it to try to visit this lovely little family-run business and seeing behind the curtain.
