We went at very busy time. Had to sit inside where it was quite warm. Servers were very busy but did their best. Slovenian wines (we did flights) are excellent and cheese plate for 2 was fantastic. We bought a bottle of wine we liked best (discounted price for takeout) and enjoyed it on our airbnb patio. Highly recommend!

Hip place next to river Ljubljanica, ideal for comfy and long summer nights. Pair your wine with a cheese plate, they have great varieties to offer. It’s not cheap to spend an evening here! - but again, if you need to save money, don’t go to a wine bar in the hip old part of Ljubljana. As for transport either walk or rent a bike (BicikeLJ) or e-scooter next to the venue

This review is for the service, which we never got. Maybe we came on an off day (03 June 2023) but we could not get any service. There were three empty tables outside so we went in and waited and waited for service while three served just stared at us. Finally we flagged someone down and asked to sit and she said all the tables outside were reserved. Sat at a inside table and still no one ever came to us. The rude blonde woman with white apron walked by us and gave us a face that needed fixing, never brought us a menu so I got up and got my own menu. Again she walked by us several times and never offered to take our order. And the inside was completely empty no other customers. Finally we decided to leave, walked outside to find the three wait staff having a chat and playing on their cell phones. And BTW the reserved tables were still empty. Zero zero zero for service. Very disappointing as we were looking forward to trying out their wines. Congratulations, you lost a big sale.

Dear coustomer. Yesterday 3.6. We had private family celebration outside on our bar terrace. Because of that tables were empty but they were reserved… absolutely it was mistake by our staff you were not informed about that and you were not served inside… all I can say I’m sorry yesterday definitely was not our best day because our staff was a part of celebration as well… in the end we are just a humans an well. If you are going to visit us again definitely service is going to be on different level… Regards! Matija Šuklje

I don't have enough superlatives to fully describe our experiences at Wine Bar Suklje. We stopped by several times during our recent trip to Ljubljana. Its was our first time in Slovenia, our first time enjoying Slovenian wines (which are very good), and obviously our first time at what must be considered the best wine bar in Ljubljana. The wines, food and atmosphere were perfect each time we visited. The value is outstanding when compared with similar American American wine bars. The service provided by each and every staff member was simply outstanding. All are extremely knowledgeable about wine in general and veritable experts on Slovenian wines - and we now consider them friends. Our new found love for Slovenia and its capital has, as its foundation, our wonderful experience at Wine Bar Suklje.

Lovely wine bar with a great indoor seating atmosphere. Their Suklje vineyard wines ran the gamut from “younger”/still developing to some nice showers. One of the few places in Lubj that have flights.
