We have been living in ireland for 6 yrs now, and the first house we rented got sold as the landlord got bankrupt and we have to move, the problem is the landlord cannot return the deposit as he himself owes money from the agency. We emailed the TENANCY BOARD BUT NO RESPONSE AFTER HOW MANY YEARS.

Been emailing since October 2022 and can’t work their rubbish website. Got thru at Christmas and was told that they will be in touch. Worse service I ever came across. It’ now May 2023 and my issue isn’t resolved. It’s doesn’t even deserve a star.

What a money making scam of a public body. I sought advice from the RTB for the 1st time as a landlady due to difficulties with my tenant breaching their lease this month (not for the 1st time) . I wanted to know where I stood legally and what was the first step I needed to take. I was informed they are an IMPARTIAL body who couldn't give me this advice and redirected me to their website-the dispute section (which I had already checked out) or I could contact my solicitor for legal advice. I was taken aback how they were of such little help to me in my moment of need. The website is not particularly clear, user friendly or helpful for landlords/landladies to spell it out in terms of the 1st step if there is a serious difficulty with their tenant. No wonder landlords are being driven out of the market. My point is the RTB are not impartial when they are collecting their annual fees but yet they pull the impartiality card when it suits them. I echo someone else's suggestion that the government need to complete a full independent audit of this useless Public Body and find out exactly why they were set up because it certainly is not to help landlords. I agree with a previous point that if there is any issue with the tenant the RTB would be quick to contact me without doubt and point out my failing. The RTB needs to be disbanded as it is not fit for purpose. Having read through numerous reviews: are they actually supporting anyone? Extremely Frustrated and unsupported Landlord. Ps Google needs to change star ratings to account for Zero which I would give in this case.

It was the worst service I've seen in my entire life. For 3.5 months trying to get a confirmation for the past registered tenancy with zero success. 6 emails, many phone calls and all replies a confirmation email, then a general form that a tenancy has to be registered. They are just making fun of tennants, not sure about landlords. They deserve ZERO stars and to be closed down, fired, dismissed immediately not to confuse people. Shame.

Without doubt, one of the worst run departments I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Definitely wins the award for the worst customer service. Take a day off work if you want to chat to them on the phone as you will be waiting hours and when you finally do get through, they are ridiculously unhelpful. It's incredible to think that they actually charge people for their "service". Unfortunately you can't provide 0 stars on Google reviews.

They never ans phone after 3 hours on the phone they might ans there website is a joke but its not funny if you are trying to get in touch with them the Rtd is a shambels and a bad bad joke thank god i only have to deal with them once a year

Can you give no stars for a service! Shockingly poor website/phone lines/webchat. Website is not fit for purpose. Based on this tenancy registration alone, no wonder small landlords want to get out of the market. A total headache for little return.

Useless bunch of people. Six months of ignoring correspondence followed by “we are very busy”. IT doesn’t work and the phone isn’t answered. I suspect they are pretending work from home?

I have been trying for months to talk to someone in the RTb but no one will answer the phone nor emails . Totally frustrated . Online won’t do it this time ! I need to talk to someone in person
