Worth a quick look to see some old Roman ruins as a detour from the nearby Trivoli Park. This isn't commercialised so no tickets or anything required to see it.

I love Roman ruins and this place is no exception. So many European cities were former Roman settlements. This wall and gate offer interesting insight in to the reach of the Roman Empire. There are several interesting aspects to this wall and gate across a several hundred meter long stretch.

With map in had we proceeded on a fun day out, of finding the numerous roman ruins that are scattered around the city, it kept us busy for hours, the highlight was the stretch of (this ) wall and the basement of the city museum.

Combination of pure Roman history ( the wall of Emona) and the art of the most known Slovenian architect, Jože Plečnik.This is the Southern wall where Emona ended. Near you can find the remains of a Roman house, but to visit it, you have to check the opening hours

Very pretty, interesting to see a standing piece of history outside of the immediate city centre. This photo is a bad representation of the whole wall but, sadly I haven't taken other photos.
